UPDATE: Towns has been ruled out tonight vs. the 76ers.
Following an underwhelming performance in Sunday’s victory over the Trail Blazers, Karl-Anthony Towns is a late-addition to the Knicks’ injury report on Tuesday. The big man has been listed as questionable against the 76ers.
Towns ailment is officially left knee soreness, but it’s likely we can just chalk this up to it being April. Towns has already surpassed the 65-game requirement to be considered for end of season honors and the Knicks seems pretty cemented into the three-spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. On top of that, Philadelphia has no intention to win on Tuesday night, as it continues to try and move up the reverse standings to retain a top-six protected first-round pick.
If Towns were to sit, it would open up a ton of opportunity for the remaining Knicks DFS assets. With Towns, Jalen Brunson (ankle) and Cameron Payne (ankle) off the court in 2024-25, Mikal Bridges leads New York with a 28.1% usage rate, while OG Anunoby trails closely behind at 27.6%. In that same scenario, Josh Hart averages 1.25 FPTS per minute logged — the highest mark on the team. All three and Delon Wright would make for enticing DraftKings plays.
