Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez exited Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers early.
Ramirez left in the top of the sixth inning due to a possible injury, but details are currently scarce surrounding his exit. It’s been a brutal day for the Guardians, who lost outfielder Chase DeLauters earlier in the game due to injury as well.
Ramirez went 1-for-3 in Saturday’s game prior to departing, recording a run as well.
The veteran outfielder is slashing just .238/.339/.415 this season for a .754 OPS, bit has recorded 41 runs, 33 RBI and 10 home runs. He’s particularly excelled against southpaws, slashing .313/.391/.563 for a .954 OPS in the lefty split.
The Guardians held a 3-1 lead over the Tigers when Ramirez left. Prior to the conclusion of the contest, they’re second in the AL Central at 38-33, half a game shy of the Chicago White Sox.
