The Boston Celtics have an opportunity to sweep the Dallas Mavericks Friday evening when the two sides meet in Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals. After a blowout in Game 1, the Celtics did have to work hard in Games 2 and 3 to secure the 3-0 series lead they currently enjoy. Boston has been the more efficient, competent and consistent team in this series and it is showing on the scoreboard. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA playoffs, so the Celtics know this is a matter of when they lift the trophy rather than if they lift it.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Celtics player props for Game 4, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jaylen Brown over 24.5 points (-108)
Brown is the favorite to win Finals MVP thanks to his consistent scoring and all-around brilliance. He scored 30 points in Game 3 to go with eight assists and eight rebounds, but more importantly has emerged as the vocal leader for this group during these playoffs. Brown tended to start games hot and cool down from there, but he’s been able to avoid that for most of this postseason. I’ll back the star forward to put in another strong showing to help the Celtics secure a sweep tonight.
Jrue Holiday over 4.5 assists (-108)
The veteran point guard has made the most of his role with this group. Holiday has been able to thrive as a secondary option in Boston’s offense, hitting timely threes and serving as a connector while still playing excellent defense on the opponent’s best perimeter player. He’s gone over this line twice in the Finals and averaged 4.8 assists per game, so there’s good reason to back him on this prop again in Game 4. Even though the Celtics don’t run a traditional pick-and-roll offense with Holiday, he moves the ball around enough to get assists consistently.
Al Horford over 1.5 3-pointers (-135)
Kristaps Porzingis is officially being listed as questionable but it seems like he isn’t going to suit up and there’s no real reason for him to do so with Boston up 3-0. That means more playing time for Horford, who has done well in an expanded role. The big man has not yet exploded from the perimeter in the Finals, but he’s gone over this mark twice in the three games and has hit at least one triple in each contest. The attempts should be there and if he can knock one down early, he should be able to easily clear this mark.
