We go over how to watch the Alexandre Pantoja vs. Brandon Royval flyweight fight on UFC 296, which will be broadcast on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

MMA: UFC Fight Night-Kansas City - Royval vs Nicolau Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

UFC 296 will be taking place this weekend in Las Vegas, NV live from the T-Mobile Arena. The five-bout main card gets started at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 16, and will be highlighted by Leon Pantoja- Colby Covington.

The co-main of the evening will be a flyweight title bout between the champion Alexandre Pantoja (26-5) and No. 4 Brandon Royval (15-6).

Pantoja, the current champion, will defend his title for the first time since defeating Brandon Moreno in July. The first title defense is often the hardest, so it will be a little more difficult. Also, add in the fact that this will be the second time those two have squared off against each other. Pantoja won the first matchup via submission back in 2021. His wins have been split pretty evenly between KO/TKO, Submission, and decision.

Royval is coming into this one off of a three-bout winning streak. Saturday will mark his first time in the octagon since defeating Matheus Nicolau in April and the first title opportunity of his young career. He joined the UFC in 2020 and has a 5-2 record. He has won 60 percent of his bouts via submission and another 27 percent via KO/TKO. He is the underdog here but still has a decent chance to pull off the upset.

Pantoja is the current betting favorite at -205 according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Royval is the underdog at +170.

The full event will get started with the early prelims at 6:00 p.m. ET followed by the prelims at 8:00 p.m. The main card for UFC 296 will be live-streamed on ESPN+ PPV, which will cost $79.99 for the full card.
