Bruno Silva vs. Gerald Meerschaert round-by-round results
Round 1: 10-9 Meerschaert
A takedown with about two minutes left in the round took Silva by surprise, who seemed to have the best of it on their feet. Meerschaert also got free of the full mount and was on his feet swinging late in the round, but was unable to put Silva away. A 6-minute round might have been enough.
Round 2: 10-9 Meerschaert
Completely on the feet, Meerschaert was able to control a bit better than expected with some body kicks and being able to change the distance. A very close round, if it went the other way we’d be ok with it as Silva at times looked more dangerous.
Round 3: Gerald Meerschaert wins by submission (guillotine choke) at 1:39 of the third round
A HUGE left hook from Meerschaert put Silva on his back, and from there he went for the choke instead of the KO. It was hooked in perfectly, and Silva never had a chance of escape.
