Update 12:10 a.m.: Aljamain Sterling wins via disqualification due to an illegal knee from Petr Yan.
UFC 259 gets underway Saturday evening from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with the early preliminary card beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET, followed by the preliminary card at 8 p.m. on ESPN & ESPN+. The main card begins at 10:00 p.m., which are the five fights taking place only on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
As the third-to-last fight on a card goes, the battle for the bantamweight championship between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling is a pretty fantastic one. With the main card pay-per-view starting at 10:00 p.m., and two fights prior to the title ones with Islam Makhachev vs. Drew Dober at lightweight and Thiago Santos taking on Aleksandar Rakic at light heavyweight, look for Yan and Sterling to touch gloves about 11:00 p.m. ET in the octagon.
Because the prior fights are only three rounds each, normally they can get turned in no more than half-an-hour. If you’re looking only to watch the three UFC championships on Saturday, you can start with Yan-Sterling at 8:00 p.m. PT. After that stick around for Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson for the women’s featherweight championship, followed by the main event of Jan Blachowicz vs. Israel Adesanya for the light heavyweight title.
