Two strawweights looking for respect at 115 lbs. face off when Polyana Viana fights Emily Whitmire at UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ Saturday live from Las Vegas. This bout was originally scheduled for UFC 248, but Whitmire missed the 116 lbs. limit by 1.5 pounds, and then was hospitalized due to a bad weight cut.

Viana is 10-4 in MMA with all 10 wins via stoppage, but just 1-3 in the UFC and on a three-fight losing streak. In her last bout against Veronica Macedo in August of 2019 she was finished for the first time in her career via armbar. As famous for beating up a would-be robber in Rio de Janeiro as her fighting, “Dama de Ferro” (The Iron Lady) might need a win to stay part of the roster.

Whitmire is 4-3 with a 2-1 mark in the UFC, but hasn’t fought since being submitted via rear-naked choke by Amanda Ribas in June of 2019. The Hillsboro, Oregon native has just one finish career, and has averaged 2.84 significant strikes per minute with just two career takedowns in four UFC fights.

Here are the betting odds and bet splits at DraftKings Sportsbook for Polyana Viana vs. Emily Whitmire at UFC Fight Night from Las Vegas on August 29th.

It’s basically equal weight given to a pair of women that would struggle to find a finish victory even in good circumstances. This might be a fight to avoid on your roster unless there’s an angle you think fits which leads to a non-decision win for either fighter. There’s not enough mat activity here to find a side otherwise.
