UFC is back for its latest PPV, this time back in the United States. A month removed from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, UFC 252 will take place on August 15th at the company’s APEX facility in Las Vegas. The card features a massive heavyweight title main event, and opens at 7 p.m. with the early preliminary card. The PPV will air on ESPN+.
The third card currently on the main card features a gate-keeper match of sorts between Junior Dos Santos and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Dos Santos is long removed from his days as heavyweight champion, and serves as a gate-keeper of sorts for other heavyweights, while Rozenstruik is looking to rebound from a loss in his last fight. Rozenstruik opened at -150 to Dos Santos at +120, but the odds have tightened since then.
Dos Santos is 21-7, with 15 wins coming by way of KO or TKO. He has lost two straight fights, both by TKO. Curtis Blaydes stopped him in the second round of UFC Fight Night 166, and Francis Ngannou stopped him in the first round of UFC on ESPN 2.
Rozenstruik is 10-1 with 9 wins by KO or TKO. He’s 32, but still in the relative early years of his career. He lost to Ngannou in his lost fight by a first round KO at UFC 249. Prior to that, he had been unbeaten, with all but one fighting ending by stoppage.
