On a card that has been decimated by injuries, weight misses, and other issues, now add another problem on the evening of the actual event.
On the broadcast, they just announced that Trevin Giles fainted backstage and his bout with Kevin Holland is off #UFCVegas5

No other information is available as of now. But apparently Giles was about to make his walk to the ring for the bout when this happened. We’ll add more news here as we learn it.
As for Holland, he’s ready to fight even up a weight class against another fighter that lost his opponent today:
I would also fight @EdHermanufc tonight. #justsaying #UFCVegas5

I repeat. Knock knock red head. Let’s go bucko. https://t.co/D1skEe0rEu

UPDATE: Looks like the dream last-minute fight of all-time isn’t going to happen:
Just checked with @danawhite Said he tried to get Ed Herman to fight Kevin Holland, but when Meerschaert was out, Herman got upset, got on a plane and left, so they couldn’t do it. #UFCVegas5

So as it is, this cursed card continues:
This 9-fight card is tied for the smallest UFC fight card in the last 5 years (UFC 223: Khabib vs Iaquinta in 2018), per @ESPNStatsInfo. The last Fight Night card with 9 fights was UFC Fight Night: Machida vs Romero in 2015.

Holland was a -225 favorite over Giles, the +175 underdog.
