A last-minute replacement steps in to compete against Jamall Emmers as he faces Vincent Cachero live from Las Vegas and the UFC Apex arena. This bout was originally scheduled for Timur Valiev, but he withdrew for unknown reasons.
Emmers is 17-5 in MMA, but hasn’t had any luck around Dana White yet. He lost in the Contender Series in June of 2018, but came back to win four straight via stoppage on the independent circuit to earn a contract anyway. His only fight in the UFC so far was a split decision loss to Giga Chikadze in March of this year. In that bout he actually out landed his opponent 54-38 and had the only two takedowns, but still didn’t get the win.
Cachero is 7-2 in MMA, but has lost his last two of his last three fights. The 30-year-old from Hawthorn, California has four career stoppages, including of Marvin Garcia by TKO in his last bout on January 31st of this year. He normally competes at 135 lbs., but took this bout at 145 and made weight with no issues.

When life hands a fighter lemons, make lemonade. Emmers was priced based on his bout being against Timur Valiev. Now he’s facing a guy that’s lost his last two of his last three on the independent circuit who took this bout on two days notice. This should be a dream spot for DFS players. Take Emmers and hope that what should happen does indeed happen, and enjoy paying below the average fighter’s salary for a stoppage win.
10 of Emmers 17 career wins are via stoppage, and he should be in better form as a full-time UFC roster member with a complete training camp.
