Two knockout-seeking heavyweights get in the octagon tonight when Tanner Boser takes on Raphael Pessoa at UFC on ESPN 14 from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

Boser is 18-6 overall, with a 2-1 mark in the UFC. He lands 4.28 strikes per minute and has never even attempted a takedown in the octagon. Just four weeks ago he knocked out Philipe Lins at 2:41 of the first round in Las Vegas, and decided on a quick turnaround fight in Abu Dhabi. Fighting out of Alberta, Canada, he has 11 career stoppages, but has only been stopped once with other five defeats by decision. He’s a brawler that comes in at 235 pounds for this fight.

Pessoa is 10-1 career with seven stoppages, his only defeat coming in his first fight in the UFC, a loss to Ciryl Gane last August. He beat Jeff Hughes last December in a unanimous decision to break his promotion maiden, out punching his opponent 39-34 during three rounds. He’s also never attempted a takedown or been put on the mat himself.
