A pair of top-ranked middleweights are the main event of UFC Fight Night tonight when #1 Robert Whittaker faces #5 Darren Till on Fight Island as part of UFC on ESPN 14 this Saturday, July 25th.
Whittaker is 20-5 in MMA, but his loss to Israel Adesanya in his first full title defense after beating former champion Yoel Romero twice cost him the strap. Before that defeat he had won nine straight fights in the UFC, building up a reputation as one of the best pound-for-pound competitors in the sport.
Whittaker looks to avenge a knockout loss to Adesanya in his native Australia as soon as possible, but has to go through Till to remain the top contender. He averages 4.77 strikes per minute and an 84% takedown defense.
Till is ranked #5, and “The Gorilla” is 18-2-1 overall, 6-2-1 in the UFC.
