The GM Shuffle discusses Chicago retaining Matt Eberflus, and Tennessee firing Mike Vrabel

Michael Lombardi and Femi Abebefe break down the Tennessee Titans firing Mike Vrabel and the Chicago Bears planning to retain Matt Eberflus.

The Tennessee Titans finished the season 6-11 with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their final game. This effort wasn’t enough for the franchise to retain head coach Mike Vrabel as the front office is looking to take advantage of cap space and an early draft pick to entice a new head coach.

Michael Lombardi is joined by Femi Abebefe for another episode of GM Shuffle presented by DraftKings Network. They begin by going over the Titans’ season and how things currently stand. Tennessee has important pieces hitting free agency, and with a new head coaching search, this will be an opportunity for a fresh start.

While Tennessee will be hoping for a quick rebuild, Chicago is looking to avoid one entirely. They have a decision to make under center with Justin Fields and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bears are choosing to retain head coach Matt Eberflus. Lombardi, in particular, shares his two cents on this move and if Chicago is able to end the cycle between alternating new head coaches with new quarterbacks every few years.

This episode wraps with the hosts overviewing NFL Wild Card Weekend and giving their opinions and picks on the betting lines.
