NCAA Tournament Winner 2024: Kentucky (+1400)

Team to Make 2024 Men’s NCAA Final Four: Kentucky (+475)

The Wildcats are heading into Year 15 of the John Calipari era. After missing the postseason in 2020-2021, Kentucky has been to the Big Dance in consecutive years. Oscar Tshiebwe has moved on to the Indiana Pacers in the NBA, and the Wildcats need to replace last season’s team leader in points, rebounds and blocks.

Guard Antonio Reeves looks poised to lead Kentucky’s starting five in his senior season. Alongside his veteran leadership is an influx of youthful talent in Ugonna Onyeso, DJ Wagner and Justin Edwards. The Wildcats starting five is expected to be rounded out by West Virginia transfer Tre Mitchell.

The SEC slate is going to be tough yet again for the Wildcats. Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M, and Alabama are all expected to begin the year alongside Kentucky, ranked in the top 25 from the SEC. The Wildcats’ first test of the season comes Tuesday, November 14, against Kansas, and a win will have Kentucky poised for a big run this season through a tough slate of games.

Team to Make 2024 Men’s NCAA Final Four: Louisville (+3500)

Let’s call a spade a spade and say that the Cardinals are hoping that the only direction they can go this season is up. In Kenny Payne’s first season as head coach, Louisville finished 4-28 overall and 2-18 in the ACC.

Guard El Ellis averaged 17.7 points, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game, but transferred to Arkansas last April. Payne brought in Illinois transfer Skyy Clark to take over as the team’s point guard. Fellow transfer Tre White joins Clark and recruits Dennis Evans, Curtis Williams Jr., Kaleb Glenn and Ty-Laur Johnson as they look to turn the Cardinals season around. It may be a longshot for Louisville to make the Final Four this season, but if Payne can get his players to buy into his system and if collectively they can improve their defensive metrics from last year, they have a shot.
