Call of Duty Opening Weekend is almost here, with the games commencing this Thursday afternoon. DraftKings contests are already filling up fast, but there are some rule changes to take note of when setting your lineups for the upcoming events.
Scoring System
This is how the scoring system sets up with the new adjustments:
PLAYER SCORING
- Kills: +2 Points
- Deaths: -1 Point
- Capture Time (Hardpoint): +1 Point per :10 seconds
- Match Sweep Bonus: 20 Points
- Hard Points Not Played: 20 Points
- Search and Destroys Not Played: 5 Points
TEAM SCORING
- Bomb Plants/Defuses (S&D): +3 Points
- Wins (Match): 10 Points
- Wins (Game): 4 Points
- Wins (Rounds S&D): +0.5 Points
- Sweep Bonus: 5 Points
Most of the new scoring changes come in the form of bonuses, but the one significant exception to this is the Bomb Plants/Defuses. This outcome has been moved from a player statistic to a team statistic, and the 3 points awarded will now go to the team. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the 20-point bonuses — for “Match Sweep” and “Hard Points Not Played” — are awarded to all active players, while the 5-point bonuses — for “Search and Destroys Not Played” and the “Sweep Bonus” — are only awarded to the winning team.
New Bonuses
Most of the key changes to the Call of Duty scoring system come in the form of bonuses, as there are three additional outcomes in the game that will now award points to players on top of the existing scoring system. There are 20-point bonuses for “Match Sweep” as well as “Hard Points Not Played” and a 5-point bonus for “Search and Destroys Not Played”. In the team scoring section there is also a 5-point bonus that’s been added for sweeps. Overall, these changes should help keep DFS scoring well-aligned with the current rules of the Call of Duty League.
