Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for August 11

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Wednesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

On the eve of the first full day of preseason football, the DraftKings Dream Stream features another nice schedule of simulated fantasy football from Madden 21 on Wednesday night. The first of the three games on the featured classic slate is the Los Angeles Rams visiting the Atlanta Falcons at 6:00 p.m. ET. In primetime at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Chicago Bears, and we close out the night with a matchup between the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles on Madden After Dark. With those six teams in action, there are plenty of ways to build your lineups.

As you assemble your squad, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers, $6,600 — The era of “Madden Mitchell” looks to be coming to a close soon since he’ll be a backup in Madden 22, but he has been very solid in Madden 21 after being outstanding in Madden 2020. He has averaged 20.8 DKFP in his 103 Madden 21 sims and has posted over 17 DKFP in all six of his previous matchups with the Steelers, including 27.96 DKFP in one recent meeting. Despite struggling with turnovers at times, Trubisky has averaged 64.3 rushing yards per sim while adding 31 rushing scores to his 129 passing touchdowns.

Other Option — Matt Ryan ($6,800)

Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons, $6,200 — Goff doesn’t bring the rushing potential of Trubisky but has shown he can be a solid option when called upon to air it out. He had 324 yards, four touchdown passes and 31.86 DKFP against the Seahawks in his most recent sim and has multiple touchdowns in three of his past four. In 102 sims, he has thrown 159 touchdowns while averaging 247.0 passing yards per contest. He has over 13 DKFP in each of his four previous games against Atlanta, so Goff has a higher floor than any other cheap QB option, especially with a matchup against the Falcons’ generous secondary.

Other Options — Sam Darnold ($5,900)

Running Back

Le’Veon Bell, New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles, $7,200 — Although he struggled in real life, Bell has been very involved and busy as the Jets’ workhorse RB1 in these sims. He has averaged 16.8 DKFP with 57 touchdowns in 104 sims along with 53.6 rushing yards and 4.8 catches for 31.4 receiving yards per contest. Bell has over 11 DKFP in each of his four previous sims against the Eagles and has double-digit DKFP in six of his seven most recent sims. Since the other two full-time RB1 plays are in much tougher matchups, Bell is the stud RB that makes the most sense on this slate.

Other Options — Miles Sanders ($7,600), Todd Gurley II ($7,100)

Tarik Cohen, Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers, $4,700 — Cohen has averaged just over 10 DKFP per game in his five matchups against the Bears, highlighted by two games with over 17 DKFP. He brings plenty of big-play potential to his role as receiving back and has averaged 2.9 catches for 21.3 receiving yards along with 25.4 rushing yards per sim.

Other Options — Darrell Henderson Jr. ($6,200), Jaylen Samuels ($4,400)

Wide Receiver

Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons vs. Los Angeles Rams, $6,600 — Jones has had back-to-back quiet games but is still my favorite elite WR play since he brings such a high ceiling. Overall in his 107 Madden 21 sims, Jones has averaged 18.5 DKFP on 5.2 catches for 81.8 yards per sim and has found the end zone 73 times. He has excelled in this specific matchup with at least 70 receiving yards in each of his four games against the Rams with impressive totals of 21.2, 35.1, 30.4 and 16.5 DKFP. He should be set up for a bounce-back game at home in this matchup.

Other Options — JuJu Smith-Schuster ($5,800), Allen Robinson II ($5,600), DeSean Jackson ($5,500)

Josh Reynolds, Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons, $5,100 — Although he is Jones’ new teammate on the Titans in real life, Reynolds has been the Rams’ WR3 in these sims and averaged 3.9 catches for 53.3 yards per game while scoring 42 touchdowns in 101 sims. He has at least three catches in each of his previous meetings with Atlanta and had 19.6 DKFP in their most recent matchup.

Marquise Goodwin, Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets, $4,200 — Goodwin’s 97 speed rating makes him a high-ceiling play out of the slot for the Eagles despite some inconsistencies in his workload. Against the Jets, he has shown his boom-or-bust potential with 5.4, 13.6, 3.9 and 31.2 DKFP. He had two touchdowns in that 30-DKFP performance and will be a great value if he gets into the end zone again in this rematch.

Other Options — Jamison Crowder ($4,900), Russell Gage ($4,400), Chris Hogan ($4,100)

Tight End

Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Chicago Bears, $5,200 — Ebron has been consistently excellent in his previous matchups with the Bears, producing 22.1, 10.4, 21.2 and 13.5 DKFP in their four most recent head-to-head meetings. He also had double-digit DKFP in three of his past four sims, highlighted by a 22.4-DKFP performance against the Falcons. Ebron is averaging 4.9 catches per sim and his consistent workload makes him the safest TE option on this slate, especially in this matchup.

Other Option — Zach Ertz ($5,300)

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons, $4,600 — Higbee has averaged 4.7 catches over his 99 Madden 21 games and had at least three catches in each of his four earlier matchups with the Falcons. He had over 12 DKFP in two of those four games and brings consistent PPR production since he’s typically very involved.

Other Options — Jimmy Graham ($3,200)

Steelers DST vs. Chicago Bears, $3,000 — Even though I like Trubisky and some of the other Bears individually, this is still a great matchup for the Steelers, who have forced 106 turnovers in 107 sims while adding 205 sacks. They have 13 sacks in their previous five sims against Chicago and should be able to get enough pressure on Trubisky to create turnovers in this contest.

Rams DST at Atlanta Falcons, $2,700 — The Rams haven’t been as productive in Madden 21 as the Steelers have been, but they do feature two X-factor Superstars in Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. Los Angeles has a strong track record against the Falcons, producing 7.0, 13.0, 4.0 and 6.0 DKFP in prior meetings with the Falcons, and they make a solid pivot if you’re looking to stay away from the Steelers.
