Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for July 27

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Tuesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Tuesday’s DraftKings Dream Stream features some fun fantasy football action throughout the day with six Madden 21 sims ready to roll. The second three-game classic slate is the featured slate of the day, getting underway at 6:00 p.m. ET with a matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the Detroit Lions. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the Las Vegas Raiders will head to virtual Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bengals, and we close out the action with the reigning champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting their in-state rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As you build your lineups, be sure to consider the depth charts for each team. If you’re looking for gameplay details for these sims, along with the upcoming schedule, head over to the Madden Streams Information Page.

Quarterback

Stud

Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals, $6,100 — This slate doesn’t have an inspiring group of elite QBs, so instead, I think it makes sense to go cheaper and attack a good matchup as Carr and the Raiders take on the Bengals. In his five previous games against Cincinnati, Carr has averaged 15.8 DKFP, highlighted by 25.08 DKFP in their most recent matchup. He has over 18 DKFP in six of his past eight sims with at least one touchdown pass in each of those eight games. Carr doesn’t add much rushing production but is averaging a solid 237.7 passing yards to go with his 142 touchdowns in 98 sims. With just as much if not more upside than any other QB available, it makes sense to spend less and roll with him against the Bengals' generous pass defense.

Other Option — Joe Burrow ($6,300)

Value

Gardner Minshew II, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $5,500 — Minshew is an even cheaper play at QB but also comes with decent upside. He had 19.42 DKFP in his most recent matchup against the Bucs and has either a rushing or passing touchdown in 16 straight sims. He is averaging 209.5 passing yards per game while adding 12 rushing scores to his 138 passing touchdowns in 99 sims. Even though he’s the cheapest QB available, he definitely comes with enough upside to make him a solid consideration.

Other Options — Ryan Tannehill ($5,900)

Running Back

Stud

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions, $8,700 — Saving at QB should allow you to pay up for Henry, who has been truly elite in these sims and gets a great matchup against the struggling run defense of the Lions. Henry had 38.7 DKFP on 212 yards and two touchdowns in his first Madden 21 meeting with the Lions and followed that with 25.1 DKFP and three touchdowns in the rematch. Detroit simply can’t stop the run, and Henry should be ready to add to his total of 103 touchdowns in 103 sims. In his most recent sim, Henry had 148 yards, two touchdowns and 34.6 DKFP against the Jaguars and now has over 22 DKFP in four of his past seven.

Other Options — Chris Thompson ($6,500)

Value

LeSean McCoy, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $4,200 — Even though there’s a revenge narrative on the other side of the Bucs’ timeshare with Leonard Fournette ($5,600), I prefer McCoy as the better value play due to his pass-catching role. McCoy has over 7.0 DKFP in each of his three games against the Jags and has averaged 10.8 DKFP per contest in those contests. He also has over 5.5 DKFP in six straight sims, including a pair of performances with over 15 DKFP.

Other Options — Gio Bernard ($5,500), D’Andre Swift ($5,000), Jalen Richard ($3,600)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $6,100 — Evans posted 13.0, 12.4 and 15.7 DKFP in his three matchups with the Jaguars, who don’t have a ton of depth in their secondary. He is averaging 13.8 DKFP per sim but can be boom or bust depending on which matchup Tom Brady ($6,800) chooses to attack. Tampa’s WR1 should be in a good spot in this specific matchup, though, so look for him to post another solid stat line.

Other Option — Kenny Golladay ($6,000), DJ Chark Jr. ($5,500)

Value

John Ross III, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Las Vegas Raiders, $5,900 — Ross has been a fantasy force in these sims due to his 96 speed rating. He has especially thrived in his previous matchups with the Raiders, posting at least 10 DKFP in each of their five matchups and 20 and 26 DKFP in two of those contests. The speedster has found the end zone in back-to-back sims and should be in a good spot to keep rolling with his ever-present big-play potential.

Dede Westbrook, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $4,600 — Westbrook has been a reliable play out of the slot for the Jaguars and has at least three catches and over 8.0 DKFP in each of his past three meetings with the Bucs. He has proven he can go off for huge games but is also involved enough to be a reliable PPR producer while averaging 3.8 catches for 47.6 yards per sim.

Other Options — Henry Ruggs III ($5,300), Tyrell Williams ($5,000), Danny Amendola ($3,900)

Tight End

Stud

Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders at Cincinnati Bengals, $6,000 — With so much value available at other spots, this is a slate to pay up for Waller, who is an elite TE and very much the focal point of the Raiders’ offensive gameplan. He has averaged 4.6 catches for 55.9 yards per sim and scored 31 touchdowns in 97 sims. In his most recent contest, Waller had a monster 35.0-DKFP performance against the 49ers with nine catches, 110 yards and two touchdowns. He has reached double-digit DKFP in four of his five sims against the Bengals and is a low-risk play to pay for on this slate due to his expected volume.

Other Options — T.J. Hockenson ($5,200), Jonnu Smith ($4,600)

Value

Tyler Eifert, Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $4,400 — Eifert has at least three catches in each of his three previous matchups with the Bucs and at least three catches in five straight sims as well. He doesn’t have the big-play potential that Waller brings, but he has averaged 4.3 catches per sim and is a solid source of PPR production.

Other Option — C.J. Uzomah ($3,400)

DST

Stud

Titans DST at Detroit Lions, $3,000 — The Lions’ offense has been a mess in these sims, and the Titans’ DST is averaging a slate-high 5.3 DKFP per sim. Tennessee has forced 82 turnovers in 103 sims along with 215 sacks and a dozen defensive touchdowns. The Titans posted solid totals with 9.0 and 7.0 DKFP in their two earlier matchups against the Lions.

Value

Buccaneers DST vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, $2,800 — The Bucs haven’t forced enough turnovers to be an elite option, but they do feature an outstanding pass rush in Madden 21. In 106 sims, Tampa Bay has 264 sacks (2.5 per contest). The constant production from their pass rush makes them a low-risk play, especially against Jacksonville’s inconsistent offense.
