DraftKings Championship Series: U.S. Open Millionaire Preview

Matt Meiselman goes over the fantasy millionaire contests for the upcoming U.S. Open.

The U.S. Open is set to get underway at 6 a.m. ET at Torrey Pines this Thursday, and the field is predictably loaded. Jon Rahm is both the odds-on favorite and the top salaried DFS option, but he’ll have plenty of tough competition to go up against. This tournament is also a significant event in the DraftKings Championship Series, as there are three millionaire contests to join, for high, medium and low-stakes players. More on all of that below.

The DraftKings Championship Series is the king of competitions, minting 100 millionaires in the 2021-22 season. For more info on the series and all of the events, visit our DraftKings Championship Series Information page.

Millionaire Contests for the U.S. Open

As mentioned above, there are three fantasy millionaire contests scheduled for this weekend: There’s the $2M Fantasy Golf MEGA Millionaire, with a $4,444 entry fee and a maximum field of 505 entrants. There’s the $2.25M Fantasy Golf Millionaire, with a $100 entry fee and a maximum of just over 25,000 entrants. And there’s also a $2.5M Fantasy Golf Millionaire, with a $10 entry fee and a maximum of 296,594 entrants. Each one of these contests pays $1 Million to the winner, as well as a ticket to the DraftKings Championship Series - Fantasy Tournament of Champions, which is scheduled for January 2022.

What’s Next on the Champ Series Calendar

The next major DraftKings Championship Series event is still a couple of months away, with the $4M Fantasy Golf World Championship scheduled to take place from Aug. 19-22 at THE NORTHERN TRUST, located at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, N.J. This event will have yet another $1 million top prize, and it’ll be a live final where competitors will be able to attend!
