Arizona Coyotes at San Jose Sharks over 5.5 goals (-120)
The Coyotes and Sharks played last night in a game that saw seven goals scored. This series has now seen six or more goals scored in six of the seven games they’ve played against each other this season. Both of these teams rank in the bottom 10 in terms of scoring chances allowed and neither feature dominant goaltenders. Look for more loose defensive hockey, with plenty of scoring chances on both sides, making this a good fantasy game to target as well.
Washington Capitals Puckline (-1.5) +133
The Capitals went down 4-2 in the first game vs. the Flyers but should be eager to rebound here. The Caps need to win out to have a shot at claiming first in the East Division and are the far superior team. While they may still be without Alex Ovechkin (lower body), the team recently got back John Carlson ($7,000) and have covered the Puck line in four of seven games against Philly this year.

Top Line Stack
Edmonton Oilers vs. Vancouver Canucks
Leon Draisaitl ($8,200) — Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ($5,900) — Kailer Yamamoto ($2,800)
It looks like the Oilers will be trying the split-up-the-superstar method for at least part of tonight’s game against the Canucks, as they try and get some secondary scoring on track as they march into the playoffs. This Oilers’ second line has produced in bunches in the past, although it's been slow going of late for both Nugent-Hopkins and Yamamoto, who have just one point between them in their past five games. The addition of Draisaitl here changes things dramatically (obviously) and should make this line dangerous against a thin team like Vancouver.
While much of Leon’s recent success has come while on a line with Connor McDavid ($9,200), the two will still see plenty of ice time together on the power play — along with Nugent-Hopkins. Targeting the even-strength line of Draisaitl exclusively, though, gives you a way to both get exposure to the Oilers’ PP1/offense while fading McDavid in GPPs, where he should be heavily owned. Use the Oilers’ line mixing to your advantage today to target the cheap Yamamoto and RNH, who will get a big boost by being back with Draisaitl at even strength.
Superstar to Target
Evander Kane, San Jose Sharks vs. Arizona Coyotes ($7,100)
The Sharks get the Coyotes again here and (as noted above) these two teams have tended toward the over in their previous meetings this year. Kane enters this game coming off a pointless night but has now landed six SOG in each of his previous three games. The winger is ending the season strong, and it behooves him to keep scoring since he’ll likely be looking for a new team in the offseason.
Kane’s averaging a stout 4.8 SOG over his last 10 games, which puts him up with the most elite names in terms of production in this category. He is also averaging 18.5 DKFP over that same span. The Coyotes remain a sneaky-bad defensive team whose goaltending has really regressed down the stretch, They’ve allowed the fourth-most quality scoring chances against this year and remain a high-end matchup for a player like Kane. Target his depressed salary at will here.

Value on Offense
Daniel Sprong, Washington Capitals vs. Philadelphia Flyers ($3,700)
Sprong continues to see first-line minutes for the Capitals and continues to produce in that role. The 24-year-old now has six goals in his past 10 games and is averaging 3.3 SOG over that same span, making him an exceedingly good floor play at this price. The matchup here makes him an auto-target, too, as the Flyers are the worst defensive team in hockey and continue to have major issues in the net. Sprong’s an easy way to gain upside and save cash today.
Anthony Beauvillier, New York Islanders vs. New Jersey Devils ($4,600)
Beauvillier continues to roll for the Islanders and remains extremely affordable. The winger is up to 11 points and seven goals in his past 10 games and has been playing on a very effective scoring line with Brock Nelson ($4,300) while also seeing plenty of power-play time. The Devils remain a great opponent for forwards considering they have the worst penalty kill in the league and a sub-par defensive core. Look for the Isles to bounce back offensively after a loss and for Beauvillier to again get involved if that prediction comes to fruition.
Stud Goalies
Jonathan Bernier, Detroit Red Wings at Columbus Blue Jackets ($7,700)
The Red Wings have received stellar goaltending from both of their netminders of late and with Tomas Greiss getting the start yesterday, we should expect Bernier to get a shot at keeping this roll going today. Bernier has posted a .920 save percentage now over his past 10 appearances and has stopped 119 shots (of 126 SOG faced) in his past three outings alone. The Blue Jackets are a great matchup for any netminder, as they’re third-to-last in goals on the season and fifth-to-last in power-play efficiency. Keep targeting the cheap Detroit goalies for a source of value here.
Juuse Saros, Nashville Predators vs. Carolina Hurricanes ($7,600)
Saros makes for an interesting GPP target as the Predators look to clinch a playoff berth against the Hurricanes. Carolina clinched their division title yesterday, so they enter this weekend affair without anything on the line. We could even see some late scratches for Carolina as they try to just make it to the playoffs healthy. Saros has been terrific for the Preds this year with a .927 save percentage and shouldn’t be overlooked as a GPP target despite the tough matchup, as he’s been winning big games for them on his own the entire second half of the season.
Value on Defense
Nick Leddy, New York Islanders vs. New Jersey Devils ($3,400)
The Devils remain one of the worst special teams units in the league, which really gives a boost to all of the Islanders' power-play characters here. Leddy shouldn’t be confused for an elite goal scorer, but he’s always been a part of the Isles’ power-play rotation and has averaged 0.55 points per game this season. Defensemen under $4K in salary can be frustrating to roster, but Leddy’s now produced 7.0 or more DKFP in six of his past 10 starts, so he’s also a good core target for any cash game or lineup that wants to punt on defense. His volume has remained steady of late, and with the Devils on tap here he makes for a good cheap addition to any Islanders PP1 stacks.
Power-Play Defensemen
Justin Faulk, St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights ($5,600)
Faulk has been playing big minutes for the Blues out of necessity lately. The veteran has averaged over 25 minutes of ice time per game over his past 10 starts and has also been seeing plenty of power-play time as the Blues’ main power-play catalysts in Torey Krug (upper body) and Vince Dunn (upper body) remain out with injuries. While the increased role hasn’t led to a ton more real-life points, he’s now hit the SOG bonus three times in his past six games and the blocked shot bonus twice in his last eight. So, the volume is paying off in DFS. Considering the volume and opportunity he’s getting, Faulk’s a great DFS target here at under $6K in price.
Erik Karlsson, San Jose Sharks vs. Arizona Coyotes ($4,700)
Karlsson has been getting consistent power-play time for the Sharks of late and has been looking more like the former Norris Trophy-winning version of himself down the stretch. The Swede enters this game averaging 10.0 DKFP over his past 10 games and has scored twice now in his last two outings and had a third goal disallowed yesterday after a delayed offside call. The Coyotes are a team you can target right now for stacking purposes and Karlsson makes for a very affordable way to get exposure to their PP1. After hitting both bonuses last night, don’t be shocked if we get a repeat performance here.
