Happy Tuesday! We have a whopping 16 games to choose from with some doubleheaders on the card this afternoon. I’ve got my eye on quite a few bets today, but have narrowed it down to three. With that in mind, here are my best MLB bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Houston Astros at New York Yankees
Yankees ML (-122)
We’re betting on narrative here — with the Yankees having a real home field advantage in front of thousands of fans booing the life out of the Astros — but also on the Yankees offense, which is third in the bigs with a 116 wRC+ over the past three weeks. This lineup has really figured something out, and on the other hand, the league has seemed to figure out Zack Greinke rather easily of late. The veteran has allowed six runs on 14 hits over 11.0 innings in his past two outings, showing some signs of a decline. His strikeout numbers are down, as are the Yankees’ lately. I think they should come out hot and get on the board early.

Milwaukee Brewers at Philadelphia Phillies
Under 7.5 (-104)
The Phillies were one of the best teams at hitting lefties last year, ranking fifth in wOBA within the split, but so far in 2021 they’re down in 18th. For that reason, it’s hard to trust them to win this game, even as bad as Eric Lauer has been over his career. On the other side of the coin, the Brewers put on full display just how bad their lineup was on Monday. Despite getting three hits from freshly-activated Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich, they still fell, 4-3, against a horrible pitcher in Vince Velasquez. I’m bearish on the lineup again tonight, and think the splits advantage for Lauer should help keep the Phillies off the board.

New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals
First Five Innings Under 3.5 (-141)
By all accounts, we should have a pitcher’s duel on our hands Tuesday night in St. Louis. Jacob deGrom has been far and away the most dominant pitcher in the game so far this season, and all the Mets have done to reward him is get him 2.6 runs of support per nine innings, which ranks 121st among starting pitchers. Against Johan Oviedo and the Cardinals, that number shouldn’t get much prettier. Oviedo has been stunning in two appearances this year, striking out nearly 30% of the hitters he’s faced and coupling that with a prime 31.8% hard hit rate. The Mets’ order isn’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball at the moment, either, and the team just fired their hitting coach. I think this one gets off to a sluggish start.
