DraftKings Sportsbook Game Notes

Biggest Moneyline Favorite

Note: This section highlights the pitcher whose team is the largest favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Jacob deGrom, $11,800, New York Mets (-275) vs. Colorado Rockies (+235)— BAH GAWD KING, THAT’S DEGROM’S MUSIC!

Expected to be activated off the injured list, deGrom will take the mound for the first time since May 9 after dealing with side soreness. He had the luxury of making a rehab start in Low-A ball and struck out eight in three innings and 41 pitches. He reportedly hit 102 at one point during the outing, which would have matched his fastest thrown pitch this season, which was remarkably hit for single by Didi Gregorius.

Tonight, he faces off against the helpless Rockies, who he already faced once this season and stuck out 14 through six innings and allowed three unearned runs on three hits. The Rockies continue to be a team to pick on, especially when you peel their numbers away from Coors Field. On the road against righties, this team owns a 54 wRC+, a .249 wOBA and a .078 ISO. Like, my goodness. Can it get any worse for this team? I don’t have to tell you to play deGrom but sheesh, it’s a hard fade if you aren’t.

Other notable favorite: Jose Berrios ($9,000; -205) vs. Baltimore Orioles

Highest Projected Total

Atlanta Braves (-120; 4.5 runs) at Boston Red Sox (+105; 4.5 runs) 9.5 runs — The juice on over 4.5 runs for the Braves continues to increase, as it sits at -136 as of early Tuesday morning. They’ll be taking on Garrett Richards ($7,500) who has put together a really solid string of starts for the Red Sox as of late. To be fair, his schedule has been quite favorable, seeing the Mets, Rangers, Orioles, Athletics and Blue Jays in his last five. The numbers match up through, as he has a 2.86 FIP and a .315 wOBA in those games. How he does in this one though is the big question. Not only will the Braves get the DH but they enter this game red hot offensively, posting a .417 wOBA, a .340 ISO and a 161 wRC+ over the past week.

The Braves continue to be one of the best teams at hitting the over in the league with a 25-20-2 record, good for covering in 55.6% of their games, ranking them sixth. This should be a really solid game for offense and one that should be targeted.

Lineup Starters

Pitcher to Build Around

Joe Musgrove, San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers, $9,500 — Everybody knows to play deGrom, I’m not going to waste your time even more explaining why. Let’s talk about Musgrove and his second matchup against the Brewers. He struck out 13 through seven innings earlier this season, allowing just two runs on four hits for 34.8 DKFP. This team continues to be one of the best to target against for strikeouts with a 26.6% K%, which is the third-highest mark in the league. Even in a poor start for Blake Snell last night (yeah, thanks a lot for that) he still struck out seven in 3 2/3 innings. If you want to save a bit off deGrom in the SP slot, Musgrove is an excellent option.

Stud Hitter to Pay For

Rafael Devers, Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves, $5,000 — Devers enters this game riding a five game hitting streak that’s seen him average 13.6 DKFP with three doubles, two home runs and five RBI. Tonight he faces Charlie Morton ($7,900) in what is expected to be one of the highest scoring games on the slate according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Devers has been crushing righties at Fenway Park and boasts a .379 wOBA with a .271 ISO and a 141 wRC+. Against this tough Red Sox lineup, Morton could struggle, especially with this being on the road. Morton has a 4.13 FIP through 16 1/3 innings away from Atlanta thus far.

Save Big by Drafting

Editor’s Note: Twins 2B/OF Luis Arraez is not in the lineup for tonight’s game vs. the Orioles.

Luis Arraez, Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles, $3,200 — Arraez won’t blow you away with his numbers but batting leadoff as a lefty against Dean Kremer ($6,000) is worth the $3,200 salary. Against lefties, Kremer has a .408 wOBA, a 7.15 FIP and five of the 10 home runs he’s allowed. Arraez doesn’t have much power but he’s getting on-base at. good .352 clip and has a .320 wOBA and a 104 wRC+ against righties. Allowing him to set the table for the rest of the Twins lineup could lead to a some quick fantasy points on the cheap.
