We’ve finally reached the last week of this insane NBA season, with our record on article plays sitting at 73-66-3. This week is going to be tough, with a lot of lineup news expected, to say the least. I’ve found some plays on a tricky Monday card that seem to carry some value, but we’re just going to focus in on some player props on a team missing the majority of its starters.
Follow along on Twitter — @julianedlow — for what we hope to be a great end to the season, as some plays jump out late due to news, particularly in the player prop market. Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram have combined to average more than 50 points per game this season, and both will remain sidelined on Monday in Memphis. That production has to be made up somewhere, and Bledsoe’s been doing a good job picking up the slack recently. With both stars out the past two games over the weekend, Bledsoe averaged 21 points despite not shooting particularly well against a solid 76ers defense. Bledsoe went 40 minutes on Friday in Philly, shooting just 7-for-20, but dropping 18 points. He followed it up with a better performance on Sunday, going for 24 points on 8-for-17 shooting in 33 minutes against the Hornets (while only making 5-of-10 free throws). Given the lack of depth New Orleans has right now, getting to 16 points feels pretty modest for the veteran guard.
We know Zion and Ingram off the floor opens things up offensively, but with Steven Adams doubtful to play through a toe injury that’s cost him all but 24 minutes over the past six games, there’s also an opening on the glass. Hernangomez has exceeded this mark in four of his last five games, averaging 10.8 boards during that span. In the 10 games he’s played with Steven Adams sidelined this season, Willy is pulling down 11 rebounds per, and even averaging a double-double in just 25.3 minutes. While it’s a tougher matchup against Memphis, I think we have enough of an edge on this number to fire, especially with both Zion and Adams off the floor — he had an insane 16 boards in just 22 minutes with both of them out on Sunday.
