One of the best ways to find hitter value in DraftKings MLB contests is through lineup slot upgrades after pricing has been set. These lineup slot upgrades often do not happen until teams release lineups a few hours before the game locks. Check back before lock to see potential updates to the rankings.

Offense Overview

The Rockies-Padres game is already off the board due to inclement weather, and as a result the slate has gotten even more condensed than it already was. The Red Sox and Astros have both had some big games over the past week, and they’re now the most obvious stacks to target for Monday night. Both teams are in strong spots, and they reside in two different pricing tiers. Boston is more affordable due to the cheap value hitters around their stars, and Houston is more expensive across the board. Lineups that use more expensive pitching are likely to target Red Sox bats and lineups using cheaper pitchers are likely to targets Astros bats. These two teams don’t necessarily need to be avoided in GPPs, but lineups that include hitters from them are probably going to be more highly owned than they should be.

Looking elsewhere, two teams that seem fairly likely to be under-owned are the Reds and the Marlins. The Reds could have a couple highly owned players, but they’re in a similar price-range to the Red Sox and most people are probably going to prefer playing Boston stacks. The Marlins are interesting as well, particularly because they have a matchup against Luke Weaver ($9,000), who should wind up as one of the more popular pitchers on Monday night. That fact alone will keep the Marlins’ ownership down, and going up against a chalky pitcher sets up for a solid leverage spot as well.
