With cornhole contests coming to the DraftKings Dream Stream Saturday night, the Madden 21 sims will be reduced from six to just four games on tap for Saturday. The final of those games kicks off at 10:00 p.m. ET when the Washington Football Team visits the Los Angeles Chargers for their third meeting in these Madden 21 sims.

Captain’s Picks

J.D. McKissic ($15,600 CP) — The two times these teams met earlier in these Madden 21 sims, there wasn’t a lot of offense on display, but McKissic was one of the few bright spots. McKissic is a great option to consider whenever he’s in play since he gets so much work as a receiver out of the backfield and is one of the most reliable RB plays anywhere in Madden 21 as a result.

He has totaled exactly 300 catches in his 71 sims, averaging 15.2 DKFP on 51.9 rushing yards and 28.6 receiving yards per contest. He had 18.5 and 14.0 DKFP in his first two meetings with the Chargers. McKissic has over 16 DKFP in four straight sims coming into this contest and recently had a ceiling game with 26.7 DKFP against the Titans. He’s the offensive option that is most game script independent and makes a ton of sense to build around

Washington Football Team DST ($5,700 CP) — Washington’s defense has a stacked front seven and was able to shut down the Chargers in each of their previous meetings, allowing just nine and 10 points in those two games. Overall, the defense has 152 sacks and 50 takeaways in 71 sims and has done a great job limiting opponents’ scoring. They have averaged 6.1 DKFP per sim and finished with 6.0 and 9.0 DKFP against the Chargers. Washington also comes in playing well. In five of its past six sims, Washington’s pass rush has produced multiple sacks, finishing with at least 8.0 DKFP in three of those contests. They’re an ultra-cheap way to start your lineup allowing you to play all the chalky offensive options as FLEX plays.

Value Plays

Mike Williams ($6,800) — Williams was legendary back in Madden 2020 as the best WR2 and best value play of any WR on most slates. He has definitely cooled down overall in Madden 21 but still is the player under $8K with the highest average DKFP per game in this contest. He has averaged 3.8 catches for 55.5 yards per sim in his 70 Madden 21 contests while scoring 33 touchdowns. One of those scores came against Washington when he had 17.4 DKFP in one of their earlier meetings.

Dontrelle Inman ($5,800) — Inman is a cheap pass-catcher worth a look on the other side since the former Charger is now the WR3 for Washington in these sims. Inman had multiple catches in each of his first two contests with L.A., finishing with 4.7 DKFP and 8.6 DKFP. Inman has exploded for a few monster sims when he gets loose for big plays, but he’s also one of the most regularly involved players under $6K, making him a solid value to target to round out your roster as well.

Fades

Dwayne Haskins Jr. ($9,200) — Both of these QBs have been a mess at times in these sims and neither has reached 11 DKFP in either of their two previous meetings. I’d probably avoid both in most lineup constructions if possible, but I’d particularly stay away from Haskins, who doesn’t add much on the ground and has only managed 97 touchdowns in 71 sims. He only had 6.92 and 8.16 DKFP in his first two games against the Chargers and has had under 11 DKFP in six of his past nine contests coming into this rematch.

The Outcome

I don’t expect there to be many points in this game given the struggles each of these offenses has had throughout Madden 21, and in particular against each other’s strong defenses. A defensive score could definitely be the difference-maker in this game.

Austin Ekeler ($11,000) will also be a key since the Washington Football Team has held the superstar in check. If he breaks out and dominates, the Chargers will win, but if Washington contains him, I think the Football Team will get enough from McKissic and that dominant defense to get the win at virtual SoFi Stadium against the Chargers.
