It’s Thursday, which means we’re treated to a delightful, yet short slate on the diamond. That won’t stop us from getting down on some bets, and I’ve got a few that are really catching my eye. With that in mind, here are my best MLB bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Boston Red Sox at Texas Rangers

Red Sox ML (-118)

Kyle Gibson may have some good numbers in the early going. He may currently have not allowed a home run yet this season. He may, even, have better strikeout and walk rates, and have you convinced he has changed. Like Kevin Owens, though, we know who Gibson is, and we can not trust him.

Gibson’s ERA has hovered over five runs in back-to-back seasons and I think so far this season he’s been the beneficiary of some good matchups against struggling offenses. That should all change on Thursday when he faces a Red Sox lineup that has been one of the hottest offenses in baseball. If all else fails, there’s also Martin Perez for Boston, who will face a Texas side that ranks 26th in wRC+ against lefties. In what would appear to be a slugfest on paper with disappointing pitchers, there is a clear better side.

Chicago Cubs at Atlanta Braves

Team Total: Braves o4.5 Runs (-118)

Here we have a high-strikeout pitcher in Adbert Alzolay going against an Atlanta team who’s done a great job of putting the ball in play and sits 20th in strikeout rate. I’m not entirely sure his stuff will play up here against these good, experienced bats, so I’m inclined to believe the Braves will hit. I have no interest in backing Bryse Wilson, however, even against a lineup as bad as the Cubs’. That has me landing on the team total for Atlanta, because I think we can be pretty sure they’ll beat up on Alzolay, who has an alarming 42.9% hard-hit rate.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Milwaukee Brewers

Brewers ML +170

It’s time once again to fade the Los Angeles Dodgers against a lefty. Los Angeles is down in 22nd within the split at a 91 wRC+ against southpaws, and has routinely been beaten by even the weakest of left-handers. Eric Lauer has been a perfectly fine back-end starter over his career and should enjoy some positive regression after a rough start to the season. The Dodgers have been slumping big-time at the plate, and though they do have Trevor Bauer taking the ball for them, this Brewers team is full of guys with experience hitting him, like Avisail Garcia and his .316 lifetime average against Bauer. Even without Christian Yelich and with some lethargic bats of their own, I can’t ignore how profitable it’s been to fade the Dodgers against a lefty.
