The NBA is the Wild West right now with COVID-19 and the league’s health protocols, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t edges to be had. I’m filling in for Julian today so this is my first Best Bets article. My record is unblemished at 0-0. I’m undefeated, baby!
Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Chicago Bulls at New York Knicks
Reggie Bullock OVER 12.5 points (-125)
Bullock has attempted at least 10 shots in eight of his last nine games. He’s averaged a whopping 35 minutes and 8.2 shots from beyond the arc. Praise be Tom Thibodeau. Bullock has been converting 43% of his attempts from downtown and is at 41% on the season, so it hasn’t been an outlier heater. It’s a pace-up spot for the Knicks as the Bulls play at the 12th-fastest pace, and while they have been good at defending opposing shooting guards on the season, they do boost the three-point prowess by 5.21% above the league average, which is a Bullock specialty.
Atlanta Hawks at Philadelphia 76ers
PHI -7.5 (-110)
The 76ers are coming off a 31-point drubbing of the Thunder at home on Monday. Most of the key players didn’t play more than 24 minutes, so they should be well-rested and raring to go for this one. The Hawks have been decimated by injuries as Trae Young, De’Andre Hunter, Tony Snell, and Cam Reddish are out, and Brandon Goodwin and Kevin Huerter are unlikely to play. That means Lou Williams will likely get the start, who can still get buckets but is Santa Claus on the defensive end. The Hawks are 16-17 on the road while the 76ers are 23-7 at home. Philadelphia is 31-27-3 ATS and covers 53.4% of the time.

Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies
POR +1.5 (-110)
This will be the third time these two teams have played in the last four games. Memphis won both meetings in Portland by two and seven points. Now the venue changes to Memphis, where you’d think the Grizzlies would have the advantage, but they are 13-16 at home while being 18-13 on the road. Like Memphis, Portland has been much better on the road than at home, sporting a 17-12 record away from the friendly confines and being .500 at home. Portland is sitting at 7th in the Western Conference while Memphis is right below at 8th, only one game back in the loss column, so I like the Trail Blazers to take the rubber game in the series.
