Offense Notes

High Ownership on AL East Teams

The field’s top choices for Wednesday night’s slate all look to be coming from the AL East, with the Yankees still underpriced, the Jays and Red Sox facing two of each other’s weakest starting pitchers, and the Rays having several left-handed value plays that make them an affordable stack. Toronto is by far the most expensive of these teams, and it’s hard to tell how their ownership will compare to the other more affordable teams. It’s an unusual pitching slate as well with no true aces on the mound, and it could be a common strategy for many people to simply punt at pitcher and pay up for some of these expensive stacks. All four are probably good choices, but they could all be over-owned as well. Of this group, the Rays may be the most appealing if for no other reason than the fact they will likely be facing a highly owned pitcher in Jakob Junis ($6,400). Junis could be the most popular SP2 on this slate, and it’s a slate where cheap pitchers will be highly owned in general, so that could keep the Tampa ownership in check and also give them a decent amount of leverage.
