Fantasy Baseball Picks: Top DraftKings MLB DFS Lineup Strategy for Rockies vs. Dodgers Showdown on April 13

Kenny Ducey gives his top lineup advice for Tuesday’s fantasy baseball Showdown contest on DraftKings between the Rockies and Dodgers, which starts at 10:00 p.m. ET.

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Oakland Athletics Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Just a start removed from a bumpy outing at Coors Field, Trevor Bauer ($11,800) will get another crack at the Colorado Rockies, this time at home. Colorado has lost three straight and has won just twice since its Opening Day triumph against Los Angeles. All the Dodgers have done is win seven of eight since that game, and ride in on a high. Without further ado, let’s get into how to construct your lineups for Tuesday night’s Showdown contest.

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Captain’s Picks

Trevor Bauer ($17,700 CP) - The price tag is exorbitant, but Bauer should be well worth it. The right-hander gets to face a lineup which ranks second-to-last in MLB with a 77 wRC+, and which is hitting .210 against righties thus far. Bauer, meanwhile, holds an expected ERA which is a full run lower than his actual ERA, signaling there’s nothing wrong with his stuff, and perhaps he’s been a bit unlucky. That should turn against such a terrible lineup, and it’s hard not to find reasons to justify paying up here.

Corey Seager ($15,600 CP) - The Dodgers are hitting .294 against righties this year, so if you’re not going Bauer you’re going to want to go with a hitter from that side. I land on Seager, who has a team-best 221 wRC+ against righties this season and a long track record of tormenting right-handed pitching to back it up. He’s also 7-for-17 lifetime against Antonio Senzatela ($9,000) with a couple home runs, if you weren’t already convinced.

Value Plays

Charlie Blackmon ($7,800) - I’m trying to stay true to the title and find pure value here. Blackmon provides just that, as the absolute cheapest way to get a good bat on the Rockies’ side, since they have only three. The grizzled veteran has a very solid .322 xBA this season and has homered off Bauer before, to boot. He’s right around your strike zone here in terms of the ideal price for a building block.

Zach McKinstry ($5,800) - Well, he’s not going to be hitting high in the Dodgers order, but he’ll more than make up for it with the way he’s been hitting the ball. McKinstry is three for his last six and has gone for a combined 34 DKFP in back-to-back games. The left-handed hitter also gets a hittable right-hander here in Senzatela with an alarmingly low strikeout rate and little to write home about with his spin rate. He should be able to put bat to ball a few times.

Fades

AJ Pollock ($7,200) - It’s hard to fade any of the Dodgers, but this is where I land. Pollock has just a .490 OPS against right-handers this year, which comes out to a 40 wRC+, and was one of their worst hitters against righties last year as well. He’s failed to get it going so far this year and will probably hit sixth, if he plays at all. That makes him an easy fade in my book.

The Outcome

Bauer should get back to dominating against perhaps the worst lineup in baseball, which won’t even get the benefit of playing at home in Colorado. Los Angeles has also shown it’s still exceptional at hitting right-handed pitching, and won’t encounter much trouble against Senzatela and his low 10% strikeout rate. The Dodgers roll here.

Final Score: Dodgers 8, Rockies 2
