If you’ve ever played season-long fantasy before, you’re likely familiar with how a Snake Draft works. In short, for these Classic contests, once the allotted number of entries are filled in a contest, the draft will begin one minute later. The entrants are assigned a random draft order and will commence in that order. The player with the first pick gets dibs on everyone while the player with the last pick will get a double pick, as it’ll end the first round and thus begin the second.

Favorable Early Round Matchup
Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Snake Classic Rank: 2nd
Hill is my favorite overall play in this game. If we take a quick trip down memory lane, this Buccaneers secondary is the one that allowed him to make 13 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns. That monster performance totaled to 60.9 DKFP, which is one of the highest in fantasy history. Now he faces this team again? C’mon fam.
The majority of the damage came against CB Carlton Davis, who was seemingly left out to dry by the Bucs as nine of those catches and 211 yards came against him. Call me crazy but I would think the Bucs would like to see that NOT happen again. That means Hill, who plays more than half of his snaps in the slots, will see more of CB Sean Murphy-Bunting. He’s not exactly a shutdown corner either and in the playoffs has been targeted against 21 times, allowing 13 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown scored against.
In short, this is a long winded way of saying, yeah, Hill seems like a great first round pick, although I don’t think it was necessary for me to tell you that.

Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Snake Classic Rank: 3rd
Godwin is another receiver I’m really banking on to have a big game against the Chiefs. Overall, the boast, in my opinion, an underrated secondary. However, Godwin will have one of the better matchups against CB L’Jarius Sneed. In the two playoff games, he’s been targeted against 10 times allowing six receptions for 63 yards. If we pull it back for the 11 total games he played, as he missed Weeks 4-10, Sneed allowed a 61.8% catch rate on 55 targets against. I’m a bit worried about the matchup for Mike Evans (Rank: 4) against CB Bashaud Breeland despite a big height advantage for Evans. With that in mind, we could see targets funnel toward Godwin more while Evans could continue to be the primary presence in the red zone, as he lead the team in red zone target share at 21.8%
Early Round Matchup To Avoid
Darrell Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Snake Classic Rank: 9th
With Clyde Edward-Helaire (Rank: 6) and Le’Veon Bell (Rank: 23) both expected to be active in this game, I’m not confided Williams will continue his recent workload. Over the past two games, Williams carried the ball a total of 26 times for 130 yards (5.0 YPC), a rushing touchdowns and five receptions for 25 yards. He’s been great in this expanded role but this has been the CEH show when he’s healthy, averaging 26.4% of the Chiefs’ total touches when he’s healthy.
Even if Williams continues this role, it’s not as if the Buccaneers run defense is one to target against to begin with. When these teams met in Week 12, ran the ball 16 times for only 59 yards, an average of 3.6 YPC. Overall, I’m staying away from the Chiefs running backs in this game and Williams just outside a top-10 pick is a bit too risky for my liking.

Late Round Fliers
Scotty Miller, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Snake Classic Rank: 14th
If you’re looking for a big yardage deep threat at the end of the draft, Miller is your guy. Evans has been the primary downfield threat on this team but Miller has held his own, drawing 20 targets of 20+ yards throughout the season. In those scenarios, nine of them were deemed catchable and of those, he’s caught eight for 312 yards, which is an average of 39 YPR! The cherry on top is that he’s scored on three of those catches, which is quite impressive when you figure he’s scored four times in total. This is a tough Chiefs secondary to combat but it takes only one big play from Miller to make this draft pick worthwhile.
Harrison Butker, K, Kansas City Chiefs
Snake Classic Rank: 12th
I don’t want to draft a kicker, do you? Probably not BUT at least you know you’ll get some points out of Butker. The Chiefs are more willing to take deep field goal shots than the Bucs are with Ryan Succop. Butker has five field goals made of 50+ yards while Succop only made one. While Succop has the better percentage made overall at 92.3% compared to Butker 90.6%, I like the Chiefs to win this game. In a normal Showdown lineup, it can be a smart strategy to pair your lineup with the kicker of the team you like to win.
