Best PGA TOUR Golf Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession

Reid Fowler provides his top PGA TOUR golf bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, the PGA TOUR will not be traveling to Mexico this week but is instead going cross-country to Florida for the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession. This week will be the first tournament held here, so there’s no course history. Even though it’ll be new for most players and viewers alike, a Jack Nicklaus design is not. Jack has designed a handful of courses that have been and currently are on the PGA TOUR schedule. Courses like Muirfield Village (Memorial), PGA National (Honda Classic), PGA West (The American Express through 2016), Sherwood Country Club (2020 ZOZO Championship) and Valhalla Golf Club (2014 PGA Championship) are a few we’ve seen over the past decade. Concession Golf Club isn’t new to hosting prodigious events like the 2015 NCAA Division I Championship, where Bryson DeChambeau beat C.T. Pan by one stroke.

WGC events don’t have a cut, so all players get four rounds at Concession. Historically, golfers who win WGC’s rank high in the Overall World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and are playing well coming into the tournament. For example, past winners of the WGC-Mexico have had a top 5 in at least one of their previous five tournaments.

Here are the bets we should be considering this week on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Justin Thomas to Win +1850

Thomas had one of his worst tournaments last week, which is understandable with his Grandfather’s passing. He’s not one to make excuses, but this is an outlier for the world number 3, who’s finished with three top 5s in his last seven worldwide tournaments. Thomas plays well in Florida, has a fantastic WGC record and dominates Jack Nicklaus designs, ranking sixth in approach and second in opportunities gained over the 24 rounds on Jack’s courses.

Sungjae Im to Win +4500 | Top 5 +800

A runner-up at the Masters, Sungjae has played great golf over the past few months with two top-15s and a top-five since November of last year. Im has a tremendous record on bermuda greens in Florida, with back-to-back third-place finishes at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in his only two starts at Bay Hill. Sungjae also won the Honda Classic at PGA National last season, another Jack Nicklaus course with bermuda greens.

Justin Rose Top 5 +1100

This week will be Rose’s first tournament on the PGA TOUR, and he should feel confident coming to Florida with a runner-up finish a couple of weeks ago at the Saudi International. Like Thomas, Rose has dominated golf in the state of Florida and Nicklaus designs, ranking 12 in SG: Tee-to-Green over his last 24 rounds. Since 2011, Rose has one top 10, three top-5s and two wins at WGCs.

Harris English Top 10 +400

Fatigue probably kicked in after his win at the Tournament of Champions, missing back-to-back cuts at the Farmers and Waste Management a couple of weeks ago. A great bermuda putter, English should be refreshed for Concession, a course that should suit him well. Like the players mentioned above, English has a tremendous record on Nicklaus courses with solid finishes at the Honda Classic and Memorial Tournament. English also finished top 10 at the WGC-Cadillac at Doral back in 2016, another long Florida course with bermuda greens and many water hazards, similar to this week.
