Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for February 2

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Tuesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 6:00 p.m. ET.

As we continue to build toward the Big Game this weekend and the pregame action on the DraftKings $250K Tailgate Weekend on The Dream Stream, there’s a full six-game schedule of Madden sims to enjoy on the DraftKings Dream Stream on Tuesday. The featured three-game classic slate kicks off at 6 p.m. ET, and the first game actually has some sneaky fantasy value on both sides as the Detroit Lions visit the Los Angeles Chargers. At 8 p.m. ET, we get a classic primetime matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and we close out the day with a matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders from virtual Lucas Oil Stadium on “Madden After Dark.”

As always, it’s important to note that each roster is not impacted by COVID-19 opt-outs, injuries, suspensions or illness in these sims and that the highest-rated options have been placed at the top of the depth charts. The roster for each team includes all player movement that occurred prior to Week 1 of this season and uses the Madden 21 ratings from Week 1 of this season.

For more details, you can find the game settings, depth charts, abilities and X-factors for each team in Madden 21 along with the upcoming schedule on the Madden Stream info page. There were a few tweaks to the X-factors and Superstars in the latest December update, so be sure to check the depth charts of each team.

Check out the daily DraftKings Madden Stream contests lobby with paid contests for real cash prizes now available alongside free contests. Each simulation will be played out computer vs. computer via an online Madden Stream using Madden 21. In this format, you can enjoy watching the game stream on the DraftKings YouTube channel, the DK Live app (download here) or right here in this post.

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, $6,800 — Prescott has the best track record of any of the QBs available on this slate, but he is in a tough matchup against a good Pittsburgh defense. Prescott has produced 87 touchdowns in his 41 sims while averaging 220.3 passing yards per contest. He did lead the Cowboys to a win in their previous sim in Pittsburgh with 17.68 DKFP in that 24-7 victory. Dak has been rolling nicely lately as well, with at least 16 DKFP in three of his past four sims, which have included wins over the Chiefs and Bills. He and the Cowboys will look to keep rolling in this primetime home game.

Other Option — Matthew Stafford ($6,300)

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Detroit Lions, $5,700 — Herbert is a bargain under $6K and can set you up to be able to spend for top options at the rest of your roster. Herbert gets a great matchup against the Lions’ defense, which has been an excellent target to stack against throughout Madden 21. In his earlier meeting with Detroit, Herbert had 216 passing yards, two scores and 16.64 DKFP. He has been even better than that recently and is coming off of back-to-back games with over 22 DKFP against the Steelers and Vikings. He has thrown a pick in three straight contests but also has multiple touchdown passes in each of his past two games to bring his total to 57 touchdowns in 35 sims. If you get a multi-touchdown game and around 20 DKFP from Herbert, he’ll be a steal at this salary, allowing you plenty of salary margin for other lineup spots.

Other Option — Ben Roethlisberger ($6,100)

Running Back

Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Detroit Lions, $7,200 — The Lions’ biggest defensive issues in Madden 21 have been with stopping the run, so look for Ekeler to get going in this contest as well. He is both the RB1 and the third-down back for Los Angeles, meaning he almost never comes off the field. As a result, he has averaged 70 rushing yards and 4.1 catches for 33.3 receiving yards for 19.9 DKFP per sim. He has found the end zone nine times in his past eight games and has 32 scores in 41 sims. The last time he faced the Lions, he finished with 19.2 DKFP even though he didn’t have a touchdown with his 113 rushing yards. He could be in for a monster game in this smash spot and has been very reliable with at least 17 DKFP in eight consecutive sims.

Other Options — Ezekiel Elliott ($7,000), Nyheim Hines ($6,300)

D’Andre Swift, Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Chargers, $4,900 — Swift is still stuck in a timeshare in these sims, but his work as the team’s third-down back makes him a solid value play to consider under $5K. Swift has at least five catches in three of his past four sims, posting 25.4 DKFP, 9.2 DKFP and 13.1 DKFP in those three contests. The Lions just upset the Ravens in their most recent sim, and Swift finished with seven catches for 34 yards on his way to those 13.1 DKFP. Swift can have some down games if he’s left out of the game plan but has at least 8.5 DKFP in five of his past seven sims and had 10.6 DKFP in the Lions’ previous matchup with the Chargers.

Other Options — Jalen Richard ($4,600)

Wide Receiver

JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys, $6,500 — JuJu is the Steelers’ WR1 and primary slot option in these Madden sims and has been consistent in most of these contests. He has hauled in 201 passes in his 39 sims, averaging 5.1 catches for 66.8 yards per contest with 16 scores in his 39 sims. He has at least five catches in four straight sims and posted 11.0 DKFP on five catches for 60 yards in his earlier meeting with Dallas. The Cowboys have struggled to defend slot WRs in Madden sims, so JuJu should be a relatively safe option with a high ceiling on this trip to Dallas.

Other Options — Kenny Golladay ($6,800), Amari Cooper ($6,300)

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Detroit Lions, $5,500 — Allen has also been a very reliable option out of the slot and has reached double-digit DKFP in nine of his past 12 contests. He has found the end zone three times in his four most recent sims and now has totaled 17 scores in his 41 Madden 21 sims. He went off for nine catches, 67 yards and 15.7 DKFP against the Lions in their first matchup, and he should be a solid midrange play with upside in this rematch.

Zach Pascal, Indianapolis Colts vs. Las Vegas Raiders, $3,700 — This will be the fourth meeting in these Madden 21 sims between the Colts and Raiders, and Pascal has produced 12 DKFP or more in two of their three previous matchups. He has multiple catches in 10 straight sims, and is usually a very solid value play as the Colts’ WR2. He is averaging 2.8 catches for 40.8 yards per game and hasn’t been shut out in any sim so far. At under $4K, he’s a great value with nice upside in this favorable matchup.

Other Options — Mike Williams ($5,000), Danny Amendola ($4,300), Parris Campbell ($3,900)

Tight End

Blake Jarwin, Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, $5,200 — Jarwin has been on a tear coming into this tough matchup against the Steelers, and I think he’ll be able to overcome it and still be a solid play. He has over 23 DKFP in three of his past four sims and has over 13 DKFP in 10 of his past 15. Jarwin just had two touchdowns against the Chiefs on his way to 26.0 DKFP and now has 14 scores in his 40 Madden 21 sims. Five of those touchdowns have come in his past four sims, as he has become Dak’s go-to target in the red zone. Jarwin only had two catches for 25 yards in his first game against the Steelers, but I think he’ll fare much better in the rematch.

Other Options — Darren Waller ($5,700), Eric Ebron ($5,400)

Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts vs. Las Vegas Raiders, $4,500 — The Colts and Philip Rivers ($6,200) rely heavily on their TEs to carry the load in the passing game, and Burton has been very busy as a result. He has averaged 4.9 catches per sim since taking over as the TE1 and has produced 51.9 yards per game. He has touchdowns in three of his past four games and posted seven catches for 58 yards in his most recent sim against the Raiders. All six TEs on this slate are actually very involved, and Burton is a nice way to save salary while still having good upside at the position.

Other Options — T.J. Hockenson ($4,900), Hunter Henry ($4,000)

Chargers DST vs. Detroit Lions, $3,100 — Even though the Lions have pulled off some nice wins lately, I still don’t trust their offense as a whole. The Chargers’ defense is loaded with stars like Joey Bosa and Derwin James, and those playmakers have been able to pile up 94 sacks in their 41 sims while forcing 28 turnovers and returning three for touchdowns. The Bolts had two sacks, a fumble recovery and 4.0 DKFP in their previous matchup against the Lions, and they should do even better this time around since they have been significantly better at home (6.9 DKFP per contest) than on the road (4.2 DKFP per contest).

Other Option — Steelers ($3,200)

Colts DST vs. Las Vegas Raiders, $2,900 — The Colts have held the Raiders to under 20 points in each of their first three matchups and have produced 2.0 DKFP, 4.0 DKFP and 18.0 DKFP in those three contests. In their 38 sims overall, the Colts have 69 sacks, four defensive touchdowns and two safeties. Like the Chargers, they have been better at home, although their ceiling isn’t quite as high as the Bolts’ due to a lower sack rate and fewer returns for touchdowns.
