Fantasy Football QB-WR Stacks: Top DraftKings NFL DFS Quarterback-Wide Receiver Picks for Wild Card Weekend

Matt Meiselman gives his top QB and WR stacks to consider on DraftKings for the Wild Card Weekend NFL slate, which locks at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Welcome to Wild Card Weekend’s top fantasy football stacks analysis, where we’ll look at some of the best passing game options to consider for the Saturday-Sunday DraftKings NFL slate. The concept to care about here is that quarterbacks and wide receivers generally have correlated fantasy point totals, meaning that one of them scoring points corresponds to the chances of the other one scoring points. For GPPs, we’ll want to keep an eye on ownership estimates, too, so the goal is to present a comprehensive breakdown of which passing game combinations could provide an edge in DraftKings DFS tournaments.

3. Mitchell Trubisky ($5,300)/Allen Robinson ($6,600), Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints

Despite losing to the Packers in Week 17, the Bears backed their way into the playoffs and will face the Saints on the road in the first round. It’s a tough draw, especially for their offense against the highly prolific New Orleans defense, but this game will have good “weather” taking place indoors. That’s one of the reasons the Bears’ passing game should be able to have a decent fantasy day even against such a good defense, and when you add in the fact that the Bears figure to be passing more than normal due to a likely deficit on the scoreboard, it’s easy to make a case for Trubisky and Robinson at their depressed prices. Chicago should be somewhat of a contrarian stack this week too, and Allen Robinson has the ability to be the best receiver on any slate regardless of matchup.

2. Russell Wilson ($6,700)/Tyler Lockett ($6,900)/DK Metcalf ($6,700), Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Rams

The Seahawks’ stack is admittedly expensive for this weekend’s slate, with Josh Allen ($7,500) and Stefon Diggs ($7,700) priced only slightly above Wilson and his receivers. The Seahawks also clearly have a tougher matchup facing the Rams, but those variables are likely going to be over-accounted for in GPPs. Allen, and Lamar Jackson ($7,800) to a lesser extent, are the highest upside quarterbacks of Wild Card Weekend, but the ownership on them should be excessive. There really isn’t a lot to like about the Seahawks’ circumstances this week, but Wilson, Lockett, and Metcalf are just so supremely talented that getting them at diminished ownership in any matchup is worth strongly considering.

1. Ben Roethlisberger ($6,100)/Diontae Johnson ($6,200)/JuJu Smith-Schuster ($5,500), Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns

Sticking with the theme of low ownership, the Steelers’ passing game should be fairly contrarian this weekend too even in an appealing home matchup against the Browns. Roethlisberger’s poor play down the stretch figures to still be scaring some people off of this spot, but there are some reasons for optimism aside from simply being contrarian here. For one, Roethlisberger actually played well in his final regular season appearance, leading the Steelers to a comeback victory over the Colts in Week 16. Big Ben had 28.54 fantasy points in that game, completing 34 of 49 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. The de-facto bye in Week 17 should help as well, and the rested Steelers offense figures to have improved efficiency in the playoffs as a result.
