The NBA is the Wild West right now given COVID-19 and the league’s health protocols, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t edges to be had. We had a nice 3-0 article on Monday to improve to 22-15 on the season. Let’s see if we can keep it going with 10 games scheduled for Wednesday.
Follow along on Twitter — @julianedlow — for what we hope to be another great season, as some plays jump out late due to news, particularly in the player prop market. Here’s what jumps out to me on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Detroit Pistons at Atlanta Hawks: Jerami Grant OVER 30.5 points, rebounds, assists (-125)
If you read this article at all, you saw this one coming from a mile away. Grant is now 12-1 to the over on his point prop this season, including 12 in a row. Like Monday, when we cashed, I’m transitioning to his three-way prop in this spot, mostly due to the matchup and Grant’s recent play. I like the over 22.5 points if you prefer it, but Grant’s averaging 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists, giving us slightly more of an edge here. Grant’s scored at least 22 points in each of his last 12 games and he has the upside for 30. He’s been rebounding and passing well recently, totaling 25 combined boards and assists in his last two games. The Hawks are a fast-paced matchup, so exposure to more statistical categories should be a good thing in this one.
Orlando Magic at Minnesota Timberwolves: Aaron Gordon OVER 4.5 assists (-110)
Since Markelle Fultz went down for the season, Orlando has gone in an interesting direction at PG. Everyone thought Cole Anthony was the obvious choice, and while his role has grown, Gordon is actually more the point-forward now. In the five games Gordon’s played since Fultz got injured, he’s posted assist totals of five, eight, three, six and nine — going over the current prop in four of five games, and averaging 6.2 in that span. The market hasn’t caught up to Gordon’s new role, and the Timberwolves are the perfect matchup to generate some offense against.
Phoenix Suns at Houston Rockets: Victor Oladipo OVER 5.5 assists (-114)
Houston acquired ‘Dipo in the James Harden trade, and he officially made his debut with the team on Monday. While I don’t expect this to last, Oladipo played a ton of PG during his 32 minutes, mostly due to John Wall being out. While the former All-Star will presumably shift off the ball much more when Wall returns from a knee injury, we should get a lot more of him at PG on Wednesday. Oladipo was terrific in his team debut, scoring 32 points, but also dishing out nine assists. The Bulls are a softer defensive team than the Suns, but I think there’s enough of a cushion here to make this a strong play.
