Captain

Mason Mount ($15,000)

With a transfer ban on Chelsea last season, manager Frank Lampard had no option but to stick with his youngsters. That faith is now being repaid. Mount is one of those youngsters. He is now an integral part of Chelsea’s offense, entrusted with picking up set-pieces. He has chipped in with three assists (third most for Chelsea) and 34 shots (second in his club). He has also contributed with 35 tackles, second most for Chelsea this season.

Others to consider: James Maddison ($15,900)

High-priced flex options

James Maddison ($10,600)

Maddison has opened the scoring for Leicester City in the last two Premier League games. He has an accurate right foot, capable of picking out Leicester’s center-halves from the halfway line. He has the confidence of five goals, two assists and 31 shots. All factors point to him having a big part to play in this game too. As a result, he might be a must-have for your fantasy team despite his lofty price.

Harvey Barnes ($8,600)

Barnes scored in the 95th minute against Southampton on Saturday. For a long time in that game, it looked like he would get on the scoresheet. His output has increased drastically after his position has been tightened in the left side of Leicester’s midfield. He has scored six goals (second most for Leicester) on 39 shots taken (also second most for his club).

Jamie Vardy ($8,200)

This could be a game for the counter-attack. Chelsea like to press forward, albeit methodically, into the final third. That bodes well for Vardy because it fits nicely into his style of stealing the ball in the middle and putting himself in 1v1 situations with the keeper. Many of his 11 goals this season have been scored in similar fashion.

Others to consider: Timo Werner ($8,000)

Value flex options

Christian Pulisic ($7,200)

Pulisic is not even in the top three in any key offensive metric (goals scored, assists and shots taken) this season. The reason for that is his slow reintegration back into Chelsea’s team after injury. He will surely push himself into one or more of those lists as this season progresses. Considering his importance to Chelsea’s team in the final third, I’m surprised his price is as low as $7,200.

Ben Chilwell ($7,600)

Chelsea is blessed to have two attacking defenders on the wings. Chilwell occupies the left back position, often pushing forward in an attacking phase to chip in offensively. He has had a direct hand in four goals this season, with four assists (most for Chelsea). Leicester is always a threat offensively, but with a quick turnaround, this could also be a sluggish game without many goals.

Others to consider: Youri Tielemans ($6,600)
