Final Round Recap — Sunday

Kevin Na takes Sony Open by one shot with birdie on 18

Na ($7,500; 148.5 DKFP) won the Sony Open in Hawaii on Sunday, entering the day two shots off the lead in second place and holding off a large crowd thanks to a late surge. The American, who was owned in 8.1% of lineups entered in the $600K Resurgence contest, sat at just one-under on the day after a bogey on 12, but proceeded to birdie the next three holes and cap off a round of 65 with one final birdie on 18. It brought his birdie total to 24 on the week, with one eagle, four birdie streaks and one bogey-free round, which came on Saturday when he fired a 61. Five players finished two shots off the lead or better, including Webb Simpson ($11,100; 117.5 DKFP), who tied for the low round with a 64 on Sunday. — Kenny Ducey

Chris Kirk finishes second at the Sony Open

Kirk ($7,000: 132.5 DKFP) came oh so close to notching his fifth-career PGA TOUR victory, but it was not meant to be as he finished one shot behind Kevin Na ($7,500: 148.5 DKFP) at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Kirk was lights out from the get-go, as he shot a five-under, 65 on all four days. The final round got off to a rocky start due to two bogeys in the first three holes, but Kirk eventually settled down and birdied three of the next seven holes and went back-to-back-to-back on holes 12, 13 and 14. Playing on a Major Medical Extension due to issues with depression and alcoholism, Kirk earned full PGA TOUR status with his second-place showing. — Stan Son

Round 3 Recap — Saturday

Brendan Steele fires 61 to grab lead after 54 holes at Sony Open

Steele ($7,100; 117 DKFP) is your leader after 54 holes at the Sony Open in Hawaii, shooting a nine-under 61 in his third round to vault six spots up the leaderboard and move in front by two shots. Steele, who is just 2.2% owned in the $600K Resurgence contest, birdied nine holes on Saturday and picked up the bogey-free round and birdie streak bonuses along the way. Steele has now got 22 birdies this week against just four bogeys, and he’s racked up two birdie streak bonuses. He leads Kevin Na ($7,500; 107.5 DKFP) by two shots, and carries +350 odds to win the Sony Open into Sunday’s final round. — Kenny Ducey

Kevin Na soars up leaderboard into second place with a 61 on Saturday

Kevin Na ($7,500; 107.5 DKFP) tied Brendan Steele ($7,100; 117 DKFP) for the low round on Saturday, shooting a nine-under 61 in the third round at the Sony Open to move into a tie for second after 54 holes. Starting the day in 19th place, Na had two birdies early and really caught fire when he made the turn, eagling nine and reeling off four straight birdies beginning on 11. He finished his round without a bogey, and has +650 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook to take home the Sony Open on Sunday. Joaquin Niemann ($10,400; 101 DKFP), Keith Mitchell ($6,600; 82 DKFP) and Matt Jones ($7,000; 75.5 DKFP) were all two off the low round with rounds of 63. — Kenny Ducey

Nick Taylor atop leaderboard following the second round of the Sony Open

At 12 strokes under par, Taylor ($6,700) sits atop the leaderboard alone, with a two-stroke lead over all of Stewart Cink ($7,200), Russell Henley ($8,700), Chris Kirk ($7,000), Webb Simpson ($11,100) and Vaughn Taylor ($6,600), who are tied at 10 strokes under par. Taylor birdied five holes on the front nine on Friday and finished with a closing eagle on hole 18 at Waialae Country Club. He was only owned by 1.62% of the field in the $600K Resurgence contest on DraftKings this week. Even with a two-stroke advantage heading into the weekend, Taylor still trails Webb Simpson (+600) and Collin Morikawa (+850) in the odds to win the Sony Open on DraftKings Sportsbook. He is currently tied with Henley at +1000. — Alex Hunter

Abraham Ancer headlines missed cuts at Sony Open

Ancer ($9,400), who was owned by 16.82% of the field in this week’s $600K Resurgence contest on DraftKings, missed the cut by a stroke in his fourth career appearance at Waialae Country Club. The 29-year-old improved from his even-par first round, carding four birdies and finishing two strokes under par for his round on Friday, but the comeback wasn’t enough to keep him in Honolulu for the weekend. Matt Kuchar ($8,400) and Erik Van Rooyen ($8,000) were the next two most expensive golfers on DraftKings this week to miss the cut at the Sony Open. — Alex Hunter

Round 1 Recap — Thursday

Three-way tie atop leaderboard at Sony Open after 18 holes

Jason Kokrak ($7,700; 62 DKFP), Peter Malnati ($6,900; 60.5 DKFP) and Joaqin Niemann ($10,400; 66 DKFP) sit in a tie for first atop the leaderboard at the Sony Open after one round in Hawaii on Thursday. Niemann, who’s owned in 11.4% of lineups in the $600K Resurgence contest, had the best day of the three with an eagle and birdie streak on his card, while Malnati poured in nine birdies and Kokrak eight. All three currently sit at eight under par. Niemann is now the odds-on favorite for DraftKings Sportsbook to win the tournament at +600, with Daniel Berger (-6) is next-highest at +800, and Webb Simpson, who’s at -5, is +1000. — Kenny Ducey

Daniel Berger within striking distance at Sony Open

Berger ($10,000; 41.5 DKFP) had a successful first round at the Sony Open in Hawaii, firing a six-under 64 to finish two shots off the lead. The highly-priced American was also highly owned in this one, at 24.9% in the $600K Resurgence contest, and paid off for his owners in a big way on Thursday with a nice start. Berger carded three birdies on the front nine, but gave a shot back on the sixth hole before finishing with a three-under back-nine. He currently sits at +800 to win the tournament on DraftKings Sportsbook, the third-best odds behind Webb Simpson (+750) and co-leader Joaqin Niemann, who sits in a three-way tie for first at -8. — Kenny Ducey
