Fantasy Baseball Stacks: Top DraftKings MLB DFS Offenses to Target for September 23

Steve Buchanan gives his top offenses to target for Wednesday’s 14-game DraftKings MLB slate, which locks at 6:05 p.m. ET.

I wasn’t expecting a 6:05 p.m. ET start this evening but was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it was going to be a 14-game DraftKings slate instead of an eight. With that in mind, we have a number of teams we can stack in our DraftKings lineups, so let’s take a look.

Also, follow me on Twitter and tell me how terrible I did. @SBuchanan24.

1. New York Yankees

We have to start with the Yankees, who will have their first look at Robbie Ray ($7,800). I never really understood the move for the Blue Jays to begin with, since the idea was to help IMPROVE their rotation. If we break down the numbers since Ray began pitching for the Blue Jays, they look like this: 16 2/3 innings, .384 wOBA, 5.70 FIP, a 12.8% BB% and a 2.2 HR/9. Not great! Now he has to face an extremely powerful Yankees club that has a produced a .320 wOBA, a .200 ISO and an 11.2% BB% against lefties. Ray is going to walk a bunch of guys, the Yankees walk a lot to begin with and then proceed to knock them in. Yankees it is.

Players to Consider

Aaron Judge ($5,700)
Luke Voit ($5,400)
Clint Frazier ($4,700)
Giancarlo Stanton ($4,700)
Gary Sanchez ($4,500)

2. Chicago Cubs

The Cubs will be taking on Trevor Williams ($6,800), who is simply in a horrific stretch of baseball right now. Over his last five starts, Williams has allowed at least five runs in four of them and 11 home runs. That’s right, 11 home runs over his last five starts. Over that span, Williams has a .448 wOBA and an 8.39 FIP through 25 13 innings. I mean, how can you look at those numbers and not want to put everyone with a Cubs uniform in your lineup? He’s been bad against both sides of the plate but has been particularly bad against righties with a .457 wOBA and a 9.13 FIP.

Players to Consider

Kyle Schwarber ($3,700)
Anthony Rizzo ($3,800)
Ian Happ ($4,000)
Jason Heyward ($3,500)
Javier Baez ($4,700)

3. Cincinnati Reds

Lefties are the name of the game when it comes to targeting against Adrian Houser ($7,500). His numbers are so much worse than they are against lefties that I’m more than willing to stack just them. It’s not as if it’s a small sample either, as Houser has faced 129 lefties this season and currently has a .414 wOBA, a 6.50 FIP and has allowed five of his six total home runs to lefties. When the Reds are facing a righty, they can put a number of lefties in their lineup and that’s exactly what should happen tonight. When Houser faced the Reds earlier this season, he was tagged for four runs on nine hits through four innings.

Players to Consider

Jesse Winker ($3,900)
Joey Votto ($4,400)
Mike Moustakas ($4,700)
Brian Goodwin ($3,000)
Tucker Barnhart ($2,500)

4. St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are a sneaky team against lefties. You wouldn’t really think of them as a stacking option on a normal basis in this matchup but you should be. On the season, they currently sport a .334 wOBA with a .191 ISO and only a 20% K%. Tonight, they’ll get Danny Duffy ($7,400) at home, which is where he’s struggled the most. Duffy has pitched 15 innings at home and has been lit up for a .371 wOBA, a 6.51 FIP and four of the 10 home runs he’s allowed. With so many teams taking the field tonight, I would imagine the Cardinals will be overlooked on DraftKings and you’ll likely get most of, if not all of them in single digit ownership.

Players to Consider

Paul Goldschmidt ($5,000)
Yadier Molina ($3,500)
Tommy Edman ($4,600)
Harrison Bader ($2,800)
Paul DeJong ($4,200)
