The US Open wraps up the second round on Thursday and the matches continue to get more competitive by the day! I’ve picked out the five matches I see the most value in on DraftKings Sportsbook.

DraftKings users can get in on the action by betting on DraftKings Sportsbook or by downloading the DK Sportsbook app.

Emiil Ruusuvuori vs. Casper Ruud

Emil Ruusuvuori ML (-167)

This match is very similar to yesterday’s Kukushkin-Garin match, but it should actually be enjoyable to watch. Seriously, I hope no one saw a second of that misery. Ruusuvuori has been a beast on hardcourts since the start of 2019, going 76-27, and a player who excels on clay stands in his way in Ruud.

I’d caution that Ruud is probably better off clay than Garin was, but Ruusuvuori is better on a hardcourt than Kukushkin. I think this line should be a little heavier toward the Finn, as he comes in hot — particularly on these specific surfaces in New York. He nearly beat Matteo Berrettini last week, and I think he will push another great player later in the US Open. He gets by Ruud in 4.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Viktoria Azarenka

Viktoria Azarenka ML (-112)

Azarenka was the talk of the tennis world last weekend, capturing her first singles title in four years at the Cincinnati Masters. She matches up with a fellow Belarusian — who actually drew comparisons to Azarenka early in her career — in what should be a great showdown.

The two met in the first round of last year’s US Open, with Sabalenka needing three sets to get by Vika. This time around, Vika is in much better form, and Sabalenka comes in somewhat shaky, splitting her previous 4 matches. I give the edge here to Azarenka, judging by Sabalenka’s weak history at slams (she’s reached the third round just once in her career) and the small margin in their previous encounter. Azarenka should get by Sabalenka and make a run.

JJ Wolf vs. Roberto Carballes-Baena

JJ Wolf -5.5 Games (-117)

Wolf really impressed me against Pella, taking control of almost every rally and limiting his mistakes. This is a great matchup for him, with Carballes-Baena lacking the power to pose problems. He is very similar to Pella, and Wolf should have no problem breaking a ton. He should cover this pretty comfortably.

Matteo Berrettini vs. Ugo Humbert

Over 38.5 Games (-112)

Berrettini has been heralded as “one of the ones to watch” this tournament, but I am not buying it. He has not done too much since his deep US Open run last year, and his win over 35-year-old Go Soeda tells me nothing. While I don’t think he will lose this match against young Ugo Humbert, I do believe he will drop a set. Humbert wins a high enough percentage of his service games to run up the total in this match, and I think we could see multiple tiebreaks here.

Andy Murray vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime

Andy Murray ML (+132)

I have probably seen FAA play over 100 times, and when he is on his game, he’s an excellent player. When he is not on his game, he’s pretty awful. He’s always going to be one or the other.

Felix was walking on eggshells against Thiago Monteiro on Tuesday, and he choked away his second-round match against Tennys Sandgren last week. I thought Murray played well in his first-round match, as Nishioka is a difficult opponent and he managed to find a way past him eventually with a flurry of winners in the closing sets. That should be a good warmup for his match against Felix, who is much less consistent with his groundstrokes. Murray should keep the points alive long enough for Felix to beat himself.
