Fantasy Baseball Stacks: Top DraftKings MLB DFS Offenses to Target for September 16

Steve Buchanan gives his top offenses to target for Wednesday’s nine-game DraftKings MLB slate, which locks at 7:05 p.m. ET.

There are nine MLB games on tap for tonight with quite a few big names taking the hill. Don’t be fooled, we have PLENTY of options to stack against tonight as well, so don’t you fret. I’ll give you my top four offenses to consider tonight to help you build your DraftKings lineups.

But you always have time to follow me on Twitter @SBuchanan24.

1. New York Yankees

The Yankees are my favorite stack on this slate and it’s not close. They have the luxury of facing Tanner Roark ($7,400), who is simply not making a great first season impression with the Blue Jays. Roark used to be someone you could depend upon to induce ground balls, boasting a percentage in the high 40s. That is no longer the case and if anything, his fly ball rate stands at 42%, which is also a reason why he’s allowed 10 home runs in eight starts. When you add in the fact that the Yankees have the second-highest BB% in the league against righties and Roark has a 12% BB%, it’s hard to not love the Yankees in this game. Load them up!

Players to Consider

Luke Voit ($5,000)
Giancarlo Stanton ($4,400)
DJ LeMahieu ($5,500)
Aaron Hicks ($5,400)
Gary Sanchez ($4,300)

2. Houston Astros

I’m going to let you in on a secret if you promise to keep it to yourself, ok? That guy Kyle Gibson pitching for the Rangers tonight? Yeah, he STINKS.

Gibson has been wrecked since joining the Rangers, posting some putrid numbers across the board. Overall, he has a 6.14 FIP, a 2.05 HR/9, a 45.2% hard-hit rate allowed and only an 18.4% K%. So, with all this in mind, how could you not be a fan of the Astros? The Rangers’ bullpen hasn’t exactly been a strong point either, so I truly don’t have much bad to say about this Astros stack. While some of the hitters have been struggling a bit on the Astros, it’s simply bad this stack more affordable than usual.

Players to Consider

Alex Bregman ($4,800)
Michael Brantley ($3,300)
Kyle Tucker ($4,200)
George Springer ($4,600)
Jose Altuve ($3,400)

3. Baltimore Orioles

On paper, it looks like a fairly tough matchup for the Orioles as Cole Hamels ($7,800) is set to make his season debut. The Orioles’ run total, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, is set at 3.5 but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this move to 4.5 as the day moves on. I have no reason to not go against Hamels, as he’ll be in for no longer than three or four innings AND the Orioles are a good team against lefties to begin with. They boast a .322 wOBA a .187 ISO and only a 22.6% K%. I have zero issue going against Hamels and what will be a mostly Braves bullpen game.

Players to Consider

Pedro Severino ($3,800)
Rio Ruiz ($3,600)
Renato Nunez ($3,700)
Pat Valaika ($2,400)
Ryan Mountcastle ($3,300)

4. Cleveland Indians

Tonight marks the second time that Jon Lester ($7,600) will be taking on the Indians. In that first start, he did well, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four. The problem is, Lester simply hasn’t been good this season and we have the wind, while not overly strong, blowing out toward center field. At Wrigley Field, Lester has a .452 wOBA with a 8.31 FIP and all nine of the home runs he’s allowed. I’m thinking the Indians will have better success time time around so while they’re not my favorite stack, I like them better here than I did at Progressive Field.

Players to Consider

Jose Ramirez ($5,400)
Carlos Santana ($3,500)
Francisco Lindor ($5,600)
Franmil Reyes ($4,200)
Jordan Luplow ($2,200)
