1. Washington Nationals
The Nationals have the benefit of facing Zack Godley ($5,600), who’ll be making this start in place of Nathan Eovaldi (calf) who was placed on the 10-day IL on Saturday. Godley has made six appearances, five of which were starts and has an overall .407 wOBA with a 6.23 FIP and a 2.1 HR/9. Pitching at Fenway Park with a 41.4% FB% isn’t going to help much either, so as you’d imagine, this will probably be a short outing for him. The Nationals would then get into the Boston bullpen, which was used heavily last night and has an overall 4.97 FIP, a 1.6 HR/9 and a 10.1% BB%. The Nationals are my favorite stack of the afternoon and carry a 5.5 projected team total on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
Players to Consider
Juan Soto ($5,700)
Trea Turner ($5,400)
Adam Eaton ($3,200)
Luis Garcia ($3,400)Howie Kendrick ($3,800)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Howie Kendrick is not in the lineup for today’s game vs. the Red Sox.
2. Chicago White Sox
A lefty on the mound taking on the White Sox? My thoughts are with Kris Bubic ($6,500) this afternoon. The White Sox have absolutely destroyed lefties this season. Bubic has made a start against them once already and managed to keep things in check a bit through four innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits. He certainly got a bit lucky in that game, as his 7.14 FIP indicates. Overall, the White Sox have some of the best numbers in the league against lefties, boasting a .415 wOBA, a .303 ISO and a 167 wRC+. This shouldn’t take much thought so just stack these guys.
Players to Consider
Tim Anderson ($5,500)
Eloy Jimenez ($4,900)
Jose Abreu ($5,400)
Yasmani Grandal ($4,900)
Luis Robert ($4,700)

3. Los Angeles Dodgers
If a couple of strong starts to begin the season, Kyle Gibson ($6,100) has really been struggling in a Rangers uniform since. Over his past four starts, he’s averaging just 5.2 DKFP with a total of 18 runs allowed on 28 hits through 22 innings. The Dodgers are another team with a 5.5 team total and should be able to take advantage of Gibson and a poor Rangers bullpen. Both sides of the plate have been hitting him hard, allowing an overall .358 wOBA and a 5.29 FIP on the year. The Rangers bullpen also has the worst command in the league, tied with the Mariners with a 13.4% BB% to go with a 4.48 FIP. In all, this is a great spot for the Dodgers albeit a very expensive one.
Players to Consider
Mookie Betts ($6,000)
Corey Seager ($5,100)
Cody Bellinger ($5,400)
Max Muncy ($5,000)
Joc Pederson ($3,800)

4. Cincinnati Reds
I’ll be the first to admit, I totally fell for the “New” Tyler Chatwood ($8,700), when he began the season. Through his first two starts against the Pirates and Brewers, this guy had the audacity to throw 12 2⁄3 innings allowing just one run on six hits with 19 strikeouts. In two starts since, as he had a stint on the IL as well, he allowed 10 runs on 14 hits through just 3 2⁄3 innings to the Royals and Tigers. So yeah, NOT FALLING FOR IT! The Reds haven’t been the best offense like I expected but I do think they can take care of Chatwood. The Cubs’ bullpen has also been a trouble spot, as they have some of the worst numbers in the league including a 5.22 FIP, a 13% BB% and a 1.7 HR/9. If the Reds get to Chatwood early, they’ll be in a great spot for the remainder of the game as well.
Players to Consider
Jesse Winker ($4,100)
Nick Castellanos ($4,700)
Mike Moustakas ($4,800)
Eugenio Suarez ($4,300)Curt Casali ($3,400)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Curt Casali is not in the lineup for today’s game vs. the Cubs.
5. Houston Astros
I like to end my stacks article with a low owned stack with high upside that you can use in tournaments. The Astros fit that bill this afternoon in a tough matchup against Jesus Luzardo ($7,200). He’s been great thus far and in his prior matchup against this club, allowed two runs on five hits through 5.2 innings. The pause I do have here, however, is that the Astros are a very good team against lefties. They boast a .363 wOBA with a .221 ISO and a 134 wRC+, all of which are amongst the best in the league. While Luzardo has been good, this perception will keep the ownership off the Astros, making this a great GPP stack to consider.
Players to Consider
Yuli Gurriel ($4,900)Kyle Tucker ($4,700)George Springer ($4,400)Carlos Correa ($5,000)Martin Maldonado ($3,400)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Today’s Athletics-Astros game has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test in the Athletics organization.
