Best Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 2020 Memorial Tournament

Reid Fowler gives you his top PGA TOUR bets for the Memorial Tournament on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The second tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club will be the Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus. There will be subtle differences from last week with different tee boxes, thicker rough and tougher pin placements. We’ll have to go back 50-plus years for historical data on back-to-back tournaments played on the same course, which means, we should approach this tournament as the “first time” in modern history the PGA TOUR is playing the same course in consecutive weeks.

The field is strong, with most of the OWGR top 25, which feels similar to a Major. Last week’s winner, Collin Morikawa, is not in the top 5 of favorites to win proving the depth of the field, and ultimately, value all across the board. A past winner of the Memorial and winner of the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic, Bryson Dechambeau, comes in as one of the betting favorites, and Rory McIlroy is again, not the betting favorite for the second time since coming back from the shutdown.

For a full course preview and key statistics breakdown, refer to our DraftKings Preview on the DraftKings Playbook. Here are the bets we should be considering this week on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Tiger Woods to Win +2600

We probably won’t see this number come Thursday, so if you’re looking to have some action on Tiger, get on it now before it dips. For anyone who’s watched golf over the past decade, you know Woods doesn’t need a ton of tournament reps to be successful - he did it Japan when he won the ZoZo Championship. With multiple wins here at Muirfield Village along with the popularity of golf at an all-time high and the Memorial “feeling” like a Major, backing the “Big Cat” just feels right, especially at a second-shot course in which Tiger has flourished.

Sungjae Im to Win +9000 | Top 5 +1400

He’s regressed recently losing strokes with his irons in four straight events, which is why we see such a high number, and for that reason, we should be giving him a look in this range. Golf is a “what have you done for me lately,” game and Im has been mediocre over the last month. Still, let’s not forget that he won seven tournaments ago at a challenging course, PGA National (Honda Classic), a tournament, and course corollary, to Memorial. The talent is there, and so is the winning equity in this range, which is why we shouldn’t need a ton of current form.

Abraham Ancer Top 10 +450

The irons have been hot for Ancer, which is what you need at Memorial. As mentioned in my DraftKings Preview article, Ancer’s ball-striking is good enough to go up against the best, and even though his outright number (+5000) is tempting, there’s just too much win equity at the top of the betting board this week; a top 10 should suffice.

Kevin Streelman Top 20 +275

Another top-10 finish for Streelman at Memorial last week, makes it three over his past five starts at this course. He’s now gained 13.2 strokes total with his irons over his previous two starts at Muirfield Village (‘20 Workaday Charity Open, ‘19 Memorial Tournament), and ranks 17th in SG: Tee-to-Green since coming back from the shutdown. Streelman shouldn’t have trouble running it back this week for another solid finish.
