Madden Stream Picks: Top DraftKings Fantasy Football DFS Targets, Values for December 8

Zach Thompson gives his top studs and value plays at each position for Tuesday’s three-game Madden Stream DraftKings slate, which starts at 12:00 p.m. ET.

The NFL is ready to roll with another edition of Tuesday Night Football this week, as the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys meet in a game that was originally scheduled for Thursday of Week 13. Before that game kicks off to wrap up the week, the DraftKings Dream Stream is ready for a three-game slate of Madden sims to help you get warmed up and provide even more chances for fantasy football success. The first game begins at 12:00 p.m. ET when the Los Angeles Chargers host the Atlanta Falcons. At 2:00 p.m. ET, the Washington Football Team visits the virtual Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints, and then we return to virtual SoFi stadium for the second time of the day as the Los Angeles Rams host their in-state division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, at 4:00 p.m. ET in the final Madden sim of the day.

A key factor to consider is that each roster is not impacted by COVID-19 opt-outs, injuries or illness and the highest-rated options have been placed at the top of the depth charts. The roster for each team includes all player movement that occurred prior to Week 1 of this season and you can find the game settings, depth charts, abilities and X-factors for each team in Madden 21 along with the upcoming schedule on the Madden Stream info page.

Check out the daily DraftKings Madden Stream contests lobby with paid contests for real cash prizes now available alongside free contests. Each simulation will be played out computer vs. computer via an online Madden Stream using Madden 21. In this format, you can enjoy watching the game stream on the DraftKings YouTube channel, the DK Live app (download here) or right here in this post.

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Atlanta Falcons, $6,700 — I’m giving Wilson the slight advantage over the veteran signal-callers from the NFC South, Matt Ryan ($7,000) and Drew Brees ($6,000), due to his recent consistency and favorable matchup against the Falcons, who have given up lots of big plays in their Madden 21 sims. Herbert has thrown for over 350 yards in each of his past two sims and has posted over 17 DKFP in five of his past six. In his 21 games as the starter, he has averaged 232.9 passing yards per game and piled up 36 passing touchdowns along with a pair of rushing scores. Herbert has thrown multiple touchdowns in five of his past six games, and he should be able to keep that level of production coming in this home matchup against the Falcons.

Other Options — Matt Ryan ($7,000), Drew Brees ($6,000)

Dwayne Haskins Jr., Washington Football Team at New Orleans Saints, $5,800 — Of the three QBs under $6K, Haskins has been the most consistent recently, and he also has the best matchup of the three cheap plays, even though the Saints’ defense is pretty solid. The 49ers-Rams game has the potential to be a defensive slugfest, so I’d rather pivot to Haskins against the Saints in what could be a back-and-forth, up-tempo game. Haskins has over 15 DKFP in four straight games with exactly two passing touchdowns in three of those four games. He also had two passing scores the first time he faced the Saints, producing 15.96 DKFP in a 28-25 loss to New Orleans. The Washington Football Team has been very good in these sims overall, and they present some nice value across the board in this matchup.

Other Option — Jared Goff ($5,300)

Running Back

Raheem Mostert, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams, $7,700 — Mostert has been a beast in these sims since he monopolizes almost all the work in the 49ers’ backfield as the RB1, third-down back and power back. He has gotten a substantial workload in San Francisco’s run-heavy attack and has been able to turn that volume into 29 touchdowns in 26 sims while averaging 83.1 rushing yards and 23.5 receiving yards on 2.9 catches per contest. His volume also makes him low-risk since he has only failed to reach 12 DKFP twice in his 26 sims. In four of his past eight games, he has put up over 21 DKFP, and he is actually averaging 21.4 DKFP in his 13 road contests in Madden 21. The matchup with the Rams is a tough one, but it looks like it could be a physical, low-scoring, run-focused game that Mostert could dominate.

Other Option — Todd Gurley II ($7,200), Alvin Kamara ($6,800)

J.D. McKissic, Washington Football Team at New Orleans Saints, $6,100 — The teams on this slate don’t offer a lot of value plays in the backfield since all but the Rams rely heavily on one RB rather than using a timeshare. For Washington, that workhorse has been McKissic, who typically catches a ton of passes out of the backfield just like in real life. He has averaged 3.5 catches per sim in Madden 21 but has been even better lately, producing 3.9 catches per game over his past 18 sims, including nine catches for 62 yards in his most recent contest, which was a 20-13 win over the Raiders. McKissic has over 13 DKFP in nine of his past 10 sims including over 19 DKFP in three of his past four. He comes into this matchup on a nice roll and should be involved regardless of gamescript due to his large role in the passing game. He is the cheapest option of the five full-time RBs on this slate, but I love him at this salary since he has nice upside and also brings his reliability as a PPR producer.

Other Option — Darrell Henderson Jr. ($4,900)

Wide Receiver

Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints vs. Washington Football Team, $7,100 — Thomas is the only WR in the Week 1 ratings we use for these Madden 21 sims with a 99 overall rating, and he has been playing up to the rating lately with at least 24 DKFP in five of his past 10 games and over 12 DKFP in nine of those contests. He hit for big games against the Broncos, Bills, Cardinals, Cowboys and Lions and will look to keep producing in this contest with Washington. Washington’s defense is built on a strong pass rush which could limit the time Brees has to throw the ball deep. However, Thomas usually thrives on shorter routes, so less time to throw could actually play even more to his strengths. He had seven catches for 81 yards, a touchdown and 21.1 DKFP in the earlier meeting of these two teams, and he has the best ratings of any WR on the board, as he looks to put up similar numbers in this rematch.

Other Options — Julio Jones ($7,300), Keenan Allen ($6,100)

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams, $5,500 — Samuel has at least four catches and double-digit DKFP in six straight sims and usually gets solid volume when the 49ers have to pass since he is the WR1. Samuel has averaged 5.5 catches for 90.1 yards over that six-game stretch and scored six touchdowns as well. Normally, the Rams don’t shadow X-factor Superstar CB Jalen Ramsey with the opposing team’s top WR, which could leave Samuel in a more favorable place to produce points. He has shown a very nice upside recently, so give him a look at this mid-range salary even though there may not be a ton of points in the late game.

Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Chargers, $4,000 — Gage has had success for Atlanta out of the slot as their WR3, and he should be a solid play on this slate at only $4K. Gage has at least three catches in 14 of his past 16 games and in each of his past three straight. He has only scored seven touchdowns in his 29 games but has totaled 110 catches for 1,181 yards to average 3.8 catches for 40.7 yards per sim. He probably won’t put up a huge number against the Chargers, but he has been extremely steady and reliable, which makes him worth considering at only $4K.

Other Options — Robert Woods ($5,100), Emmanuel Sanders ($4,500), Josh Reynolds ($3,800)

Tight End

Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Atlanta Falcons, $5,000 — Henry has posted double-digit DKFP in three straight after going off for eight catches, 96 yards, a touchdown and 23.6 DKFP in his most recent sim against the Colts. He has 11 touchdowns in his 27 sims and has been much more involved since the Chargers switched to Herbert at QB. The rookie QB relies on his TE over the middle, and that has led to big production from Henry lately. In addition, the Falcons have been vulnerable to big fantasy games by opposing TEs, so I like Henry a lot on this slate.

Other Options — George Kittle ($5,200), Jared Cook ($4,800)

Jeremy Sprinkle, Washington Football Team at New Orleans Saints, $4,500 — Although Logan Thomas ($2,500) has passed him on the depth chart in real life, Sprinkle is still very involved as a pass-catcher in these sims. He has multiple catches in 25 of his 26 sims and is averaging 4.4 catches for 50.7 yards per contest. He has found the end zone 11 times, including a touchdown in his first game against the Saints, when he had 12.7 DKFP. He’s one of the most reliable TEs on this slate even though his ceiling may not be quite as high as Kittle’s, Henry’s or Cook’s. He makes a lot of sense at this salary in this matchup.

Other Option — Hayden Hurst ($4,200)

Washington Football Team DST at New Orleans Saints, $3,100 — Washington’s defense helped the team get a huge win on Monday evening in real life, and it will be key to Washington pulling off another road upset in simland on Tuesday. Washington has been able to rush the passer and produce 56 sacks in 26 sims while forcing 16 turnovers. They only have one defensive touchdown but have still been able to average 6.2 DKFP. While a big play is definitely a possibility, this defense is one of the few in all of Madden that doesn’t need that one magic moment to still be a solid play. Even against the Saints, they’re a solid defense to consider.

Rams DST vs. San Francisco 49ers, $2,800 — The Rams’ defense is build around their two X-factor superstars, DT Aaron Donald and CB Jalen Ramsey, but the team also has solid depth at other positions across the formation. They have forced 13 turnovers and picked up 42 sacks in their 24 games and also have just one defensive touchdown. They get a good matchup against the 49ers in what could be a low-scoring game, so they’re a solid pivot under $3K. The first time they took on San Francisco in these sims, they won 17-6 and had 12 DKFP as a DST.
