The EPL resumes this Saturday with a packed schedule. Three of those games constitute DraftKings’ main EPL slate. Here is a look at the studs and value options from Saturday’s slate.
Gabriel Jesus ($9,200)
Jesus has returned from a short injury layoff at the right time for Manchester City. He has scored two goals this season. Surprisingly, though, he didn’t get on the scoresheet in a 5-0 win against Burnley at home despite playing the entire duration. He will be keen to ensure he doesn’t face a goal-scoring drought by creating an offensive contribution at home against one of the worst defensive teams in the EPL this season.
Timo Werner ($7,800)
Werner is comfortably the most crucial part of this Chelsea offense, not only because of his proximity to goal but also because of his conversion rate and form. He is coming off a stellar season for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He has scored four goals and taken 23 shots for Chelsea in the EPL, both the highest for his club. At $7,800, he is certainly a value acquisition.
Other to consider: Anthony Martial ($6,300).
Bruno Fernandes ($10,500)
Here are some compelling stats for Fernandes this season:
- Goals scored: Seven, highest for Manchester United.
- Assists: Three, second most for Manchester United.
- Completed passes: 544, second most for Manchester United.
- Shots taken: 30, comfortably the highest for his club.
- Tackles: 18, joint highest for Manchester United.
- Fantasy output: 25.1 DKFP, highest on this slate.
These should be enough to justify this selection for this slate.
Ferran Torres ($6,200)
If you look at Manchester City’s offensive charts, Torres isn’t even in the top three in most metrics. However, if you analyze his contributions closer, you might see real value in his selection, especially at a price of $6,200, because of his position on the pitch. Primarily on the left flank, he routinely gets into the box to take shots. He scored in the previous game against Burnley, which will fill him with confidence too.
Other to consider: Kevin De Bruyne ($10,200).
Reece James ($5,700)
Chelsea has conceded just 10 goals this season, second fewest in the EPL. The club has kept four clean sheets in the last five games in this league. Against Leeds United, the likelihood of that converting to five clean sheets in six games is quite high. Apart from that, James has been impressive on the right wing this season, whipping deliveries into the six-yard box with enough penetration to create chances.
Kyle Walker ($5,200)
Not many players in the Premier League can outpace Walker. He is one of the quickest players around. While that’s an irrelevant fantasy metric, it makes him immensely valuable to his manager. He has also racked up 651 passes for Manchester City this season, second most in the club. He is also second in Manchester City in interceptions (9) and clearances (12). Walker has also won 12 aerial battles, making him a crucial addition to your fantasy roster.
Fulham has scored 11 goals this season. Only four teams have scored fewer goals, and three of them are positioned below Fulham in the EPL table. While Fulham has glaring defensive issues, the team also needs some offensive impetus. That is hard to find against Manchester City. Considering the ease with which Manchester City put away Burnley at home, it’s difficult to envisage any other result here too.
Other to consider: Edouard Mendy ($5,800).
