Forwards
Studs
Mohamed Salah ($11,500)
This is not a difficult decision. Salah is the EPL’s leading goal-scorer this season with 13 goals. He has taken 50 shots, highest for Liverpool. He has been in terrific scoring form right through this year. He has averaged 19.7 DKFP per game. He has even chipped in with three assists. Despite his lofty price, he is definitely worth the money.
Values
Harry Kane ($9,600)
Editor’s note: Today’s 1:00 p.m. ET English Premier League (EPL) game between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham has been postponed due to COVID-19.
Kane is another easy pick on this slate. Fulham has too many defensive gaps. Kane is not a player to make an error against. He has scored nine goals this season on 55 shots taken, highest for Tottenham. He even has 10 assists. The next on that list is Son with four assists. He is a force in the air as well, having won 39 aerial battles this season, second highest for Tottenham.
Others to consider: Sadio Mane ($10,600)
Midfielders
Studs
Son Heung-Min ($10,200)
Editor’s note: Today’s 1:00 p.m. ET English Premier League (EPL) game between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham has been postponed due to COVID-19.
Son’s conversion rate has been stunning this season. He has scored 11 goals on just 26 shots. He is tied for second in the list of highest goal-scorers this season. He has provided Jose Mourinho with an attacking threat that he desperately required to accompany Kane. Even if he doesn’t score, he could easily contribute to a goal considering he is often tasked with taking set-pieces too.
Values
Roberto Firmino ($8,400)
By his standards, Firmino has had a quiet season. Still, he has scored five goals along with three assists. He would have had the gamewinner against West Brom on Sunday had it not been an outstretched hand from the goalkeeper. To be able to draft a player of Firmino’s offensive caliber for just $8,400 is a serious flex for your roster.
Others to consider: Jordan Henderson ($6,700)
Defenders
Studs
Trent Alexander-Arnold ($7,400)
There was one free kick from Alexander-Arnold that curled well away from goal against West Brom. That attempt started on goal but whirled with power well past the post. It is reflective of his skill in dead-ball situations. He normally doesn’t miss by that much, so if he gets another opportunity, he could easily score against Newcastle. Defensively, he has made 15 interceptions and 17 tackles, third in Liverpool in both metrics.
Values
Fabinho ($4,500)
With Virgin van Dijk out, Fabinho has been pressed into the center-half position for Liverpool. His presence has been impactful. He is leading Liverpool in all key defensive metrics: tackles (31), aerial battles won (24), clearances (31) and interceptions (18). After conceding a late goal against West Brom, Liverpool will be keen to ensure Newcastle doesn’t score on Wednesday.
Goalkeepers
Hugo Lloris ($5,600)
Editor’s note: Today’s 1:00 p.m. ET English Premier League (EPL) game between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham has been postponed due to COVID-19.
Tottenham has scored 26 goals while Fulham has managed just 13. That 2:1 ratio shows how ineffective Fulham has been in the final third in the Premier League. Tottenham has also conceded just 15 goals despite a rapid pace of play. Lloris has kept five clean sheets this season, fifth in the EPL. All factors point to him adding to that tally on Wednesday.
Others to consider: Alisson ($5,900)
