Spreads really mattered on Tuesday, with Davidson losing by one and covering the 1.5-point spread, but failing us on the moneyline. The Kansas-Kentucky game also came down to the wire, with Kentucky getting a wild cover in the loss.
We’re onto Wednesday, with more terrific games to bet on at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Texas +1 (-112) at North Carolina
I’m probably still shook from the Davidson game, but at a tiny price difference in juice, I’ll take the point here rather than play the moneyline. The Longhorns looked terrific on Tuesday, steamrolling a really good Indiana team that blew Providence out on Monday. North Carolina is the best competition Texas will have faced, but I think the Longhorns are the more complete team here. The Tar Heels have some very talented freshman that can get past most teams, but I think these early games against veteran teams can be tough, and nobody in the country has a more veteran squad than Texas. The Longhorns return 99% of their minutes played from last season, plus have added quality talent via transfer. There’s a reason the Longhorns are so highly ranked in many metrics like KenPom, and I think we see why in this game.
Alabama -2 (-112) vs. Providence
I’m going to keep fading Providence, despite the one-point win over Davidson. The Friars were up 19 early on Davidson on Tuesday, and still should have lost that game. PC just can’t put together 40 strong minutes right now, and against better competition, this should be more like the Indiana blowout loss they suffered on Monday. ‘Bama came up short against a very good Stanford squad on Monday, and I think that has them a bit undervalued moving forward. The Tide bounced back with a 12-point victory against UNLV on Tuesday, and should have enough to get past Providence without much of a sweat.
You never want to put too many of these square parlays together. We saw what happened with Michigan State last night, which was a team we were on with the points and the moneyline. I think Wednesday’s heavyweight battles will be won by the favorites, though, and I prefer not messing around with the spreads, especially after how Tuesday went. No disrespect to West Virginia, but the ‘Zags are simply the best team in the country. No defense is going to be able to slow this offense, and I think we see another impressive showing from the Bulldogs on the big stage. Illinois is getting a lot of hype as a top-five team with a tremendous inside/outside duo of NBA talents on the roster, but Baylor is still the better team. The Bears crash the glass, play hard-nosed defense, and have experienced scoring that can get buckets if the offense ever gets stagnant — something we didn’t see much in Kentucky vs. Kansas. I trust the best to teams in the country to get it done with a fair price on the parlay.
