Manchester City hosts West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad Stadium to kick off a busy mid-week Premier League contest. We take a look at that strategy along with suggestions for your DraftKings roster.

Captain

Kevin De Bruyne ($18,000)

Apart from the occasional delectable delivery, De Bruyne was quiet against Manchester United at Old Trafford. That goalless draw kept both teams outside the top four. However, this is a fine opportunity to move up in the standings. De Bruyne is leading Manchester City in assists (6) and shots taken (36) this season. He has also scored two goals. At an average of 19.9 DKFP per game, he is the easy choice for Captain on this slate.

Others to consider: Gabriel Jesus ($14,700)

High-priced flex options

Gabriel Jesus ($9,800)

In the only game Jesus has played against West Brom at home, he scored one goal and assisted another. With Sergio Aguero ($7,000) questionable due to illness, Jesus is likely to retain his position as the central striker for Manchester City. He created a few chances for his colleagues in the Manchester derby but not much more. At home, against a struggling West Brom, this could be a feast after a famine.

Ferran Torres ($8,000)

Torres was brought on for Riyad Mahrez ($10,600) in the previous game in a straight swap on the right wing. Mahrez has started quite a few games and could be due a game on the bench. Torres, although used in the starting 11 primarily in the Champions League, could be drafted in with a quick turnaround after Saturday’s game.

Phil Foden ($8,800)

Another player that could benefit from a second game in the space of a few days is Foden. He wasn’t needed at all in the Manchester derby after a solid game against Marseille in the Champions League. Considering Manchester City’s utter and absolute dominance against bottom-half teams at home, there is the obvious strategy of stacking heavily from Manchester City’s midfield. If Foden gets the nod, he could have a field day.

Others to consider: Raheem Sterling ($9,200)

Value flex options

Ederson ($7,400)

Ederson has kept five clean sheets this season, tied for most in the Premier League. He is well-poised to lead that list after Tuesday’s game. West Brom has scored just nine goals this season, the third-fewest in the EPL. Up against a team that hardly concedes at Etihad Stadium, this could be a blowout. Ederson might not even be needed apart from the sporadic shot on target.

Rodrigo ($4,600)

Here’s an interesting stat: Rodrigo is leading the entire Premier League in completed passes with 901. He is also leading Manchester City in aerial battles won (23). He has been manager Pep Guardiola’s preferred choice as holding midfielder in the Premier League. He has repaid that faith with solidity in the space leading into the final third in an attacking phase. Even though he is averaging just 5.1 DKFP per game, he is a reliable pick.

Others to consider: Aymeric Laporte ($5,200)
