Forwards
Studs
Callum Wilson ($8,800)
Wilson has returned from injury with aplomb. He scored in the previous game against Crystal Palace to help Newcastle register an impressive road victory, taking his personal season tally to seven goals. He has had a terrific individual season so far. Apart from goals, he is also leading Newcastle in assists (2) and shots taken (18). Neither form nor the opposition is a major concern for Newcastle.
Values
Gabriel Jesus ($7,600)
Jesus was given the night off against Marseille in the mid-week Champions League game. That should mean he slots right back into the starting XI for this crucial fixture. Even though Sergio Aguero ($5,900) is back to fitness, he might have to face one more game on the bench. Jesus hasn’t had a sensational offensive season so far but he is still managing 11 DKFP per game.
Others to consider: Dominic Calvert-Lewin ($8,300)
Midfielders
Studs
Kevin De Bruyne ($10,700)
Like Jesus, De Bruyne also played no active part in that Champions League game. Manager Pep Guardiola would have wanted De Bruyne fit and ready for this Manchester derby. Apart from De Bruyne’s two goals, he is leading Manchester City in assists (6) and shots taken (33). A well-rested De Bruyne poses an even more serious threat to Manchester United.
Values
Timo Werner ($7,800)
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has played his cards well so far. He has utilized Timo Werner through the season, while rotating between Olivier Giroud ($8,000) and Tammy Abraham ($6,800) depending on the opponent. That’s primarily because Werner’s work rate is much higher, often playing in an attacking midfield role. Werner is currently leading Chelsea in goals scored (3), assists (3) and shots taken (28).
Others to consider: Bruno Fernandes ($10,300)
Defenders
Studs
Ben Chilwell ($5,800)
Everton has been a much-improved team this season. However, Chelsea is almost always a title contender in the first half of the season because of the team’s stability at the back. Chilwell, apart from the high probability of him not conceding too many goals, also likes to move forward down the left flank to whirl deliveries into the six-yard box or even take a shot on himself.
Values
Jamal Lewis ($4,700)
Lewis has been a defensive wall at the back for Newcastle. He has racked up a team-leading 19 tackles this season so far. He is also up against West Brom, a team that has scored just eight goals this season. While he has just 5.3 DKFP per game, his price isn’t too high, which affords you the potential to extract a higher return on your investment on him.
Goalkeepers
Ederson ($5,500)
Even though Manchester City is currently seventh on the EPL table, the team has conceded just 11 goals, second fewest in the Premier League. Manchester United possesses some of the best offensive players in the league but Ederson will be hard to get past, as he has been right through this season. He is averaging 6.3 DKFP per game so far.
Others to consider: Edouard Mendy ($5,300)
