Studs
Erling Haaland ($11,200)
If you haven’t drafted Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland recently, what have you been doing? The 20-year-old has helped himself to 12 goals in his past eight games in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. The first of those goals in that crazy run came in the reverse fixture at the Stadio Olimpico and nine of those 12 have been scored in the second half. In his past 12 UCL ties, Haaland has scored 16 goals and the Norwegian is well on course to fill one of the voids soon to be vacated by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Values
Timo Werner ($8,800)
It may have taken Werner time to settle in at Chelsea following his transfer from RB Leipzig, but Frank Lampard is beginning to get a solid return on the vast investment the Blues made on the forward. The 24-year-old has found the back of the opponents net seven times in his past 10 league and cup games for the Stamford Bridge club with three of them coming in his past two UCL games. He hasn’t scored in his past three contests for Chelsea, but he will be well fancied to end his mini-drought against the Spaniards.
Others to consider: Alvaro Morata ($9,500)
Midfielders
Studs
Angel Di Maria ($7,900)
Throughout his career, Maria has popped up with his fair share of goals from midfield. Playing with forwards like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar allows the Argentine to ghost into advanced positions in their attacks. The 32-year-old has scored three times in his past nine games for the French champions who are in arguably the most competitive group where all four teams are still alive.
Values
Thorgan Hazard ($6,800)
Living in the shadow of his elder brother Eden who plays for Real Madrid can’t be easy, but Thorgan Hazard is beginning to make a name for himself at Dortmund. A win for the German side against Lazio in Westfalenstadion will guarantee Hazard a place in the knock-out stage of the competition where he will hope to meet his brother at some stage. Hazard junior scored his side’s only goal in a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Cologne.
Others to consider: Ivan Rakitic ($6,400)
Defenders
Studs
Kurt Zouma ($3,700)
Chelsea will travel to Sevilla safe in the knowledge that both they and their Spanish opponents have secured a place in the elimination stage of the UCL. Chelsea’s defensive record of conceding just one goal in four ties has been built on the solid performances of Zouma. He has already been a part of seven shutouts in their last nine league and cup matches this season. Oh, and he has also scored three times as well.
Values
Sergino Dest ($5,000)
Dest is developing into one of the best attacking defenders in La Liga and he was rewarded for one of his advancing runs to score his first goal in the famous colors of Barcelona in their last UCL tie, which was a 4-0 win at Dinamo Kyiv. Aged 20, this American has a very bright future ahead of him and playing on the biggest stage in Europe alongside one of the best players of his generation in Lionel Messi will only improve his talent. Dest can expect to get more game time now that the La Liga side has guaranteed its place in the knockout stage.
Others to consider: Leonardo Bonucci ($3,700)
Goalkeepers
Studs
Edouard Mendy ($4,900)
The Chelsea shot-stopper has made an immediate impact since joining the Blues in the offseason. The goalkeeper position was a weakness last season with Kepa Arrizabalaga making some bad errors in judgment. Mendy is a strong presence behind a strong back four and hates conceding goals. Mendy has conceded just two goals in the last 900 minutes of action. Averaging 13.5 points per game, Mendy will want a quiet game at Sevilla.
Others to consider: Roman Burki ($5,700)
