Tuesday’s slate of UEFA Champions League (UCL) matches sees three-time champion Inter travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund with the Italian side’s hopes of staying in the competition hanging by a thread. Defeat will end their UCL dreams for this season, but victory and a defeat for Real Madrid at Shakhtar Donetsk will keep their hopes alive for another week. Team selection could play a big role in who you decide to draft as some players may not be risked because their side has already qualified for the knockout stage. We take a look at the studs and value options to consider from each position for your DraftKings roster.

Studs
Alassane Plea ($9,400)
Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea has been one of the standout players of this season’s Champions League. Plea has been directly involved in six of the 14 goals his side has scored in their four ties so far. He might not get many chances against a desperate Inter side needing to win, but Plea has the ability to score all types of goals. The German side is in a great position to qualify and Plea can help take them out of Group F in style with an impressive performance against Inter.
Values
Lars Stindl ($9,000)
With two goals and two assists in his last two UCL ties, Lars Stindl is a forward certainly worth considering. His current form for Monchengladbach has seen him score four goals in his last five games although he didn’t manage to find the net in his side’s first meeting with Inter. However, that could change in this tie. Inter needs to score goals, which will see them push forward, and if they commit too many players forward, Stindl and company have the ability to hit them on the counterattack.
Others to consider: Leroy Sane ($6,800)
Midfielders
Studs
Alejandro Gomez ($9,800)
If things go according to plan for Atalanta, they should have a straightforward match against Midtjylland. Already in this season’s competition, Alejandro Gomez has a goal and two assists and averages 15.3 points per game. The Danes will be all too aware of the damage Gomez can inflict after scoring in the first meeting in Denmark. The midfielder knows a good run in the Champions League will shine the light on his side and if he is one of their most creative players, it will be noticed by other European sides on the lookout for fresh talent.
Values
Dusan Tadic ($8,300)
Two goals and three assists in this season’s UCL is a superb return for a midfielder and Dusan Tadic would deserve his place in this season’s team of the tournament. Tadic has also created 12 chances from his accurate set-piece deliveries. Tadic needs one more goal to reach double figures for the season and if his goalscoring run can continue, it could be a successful season for Tadic and Ajax. Tadic failed to score against Liverpool during his four seasons at Southampton, but he could score his first goal against the Reds this week.
Others to consider: Sergio Oliveira ($5,300)
Defenders
Studs
Joao Cancelo ($5,700)
Joao Cancelo has helped Manchester City qualify for the elimination stage of the UCL and has been a part of all three clean sheets City has registered in the competition so far. The Portuguese star has actually featured in four shutouts in his last six league and cup games for City and has chipped in with a goal against Olympiakos earlier in this group. Cancelo has impressed in City’s defense since joining from Juventus at the start of the 2019-20 season.
Values
Oscar Wendt ($4,500)
Oscar Wendt goes into Borussia Monchengladbach’s penultimate group game having played his part in back-to-back shutouts in the doubleheaders with Shakhtar Donetsk. Last time out he also managed to get his name on the scoresheet to the delight of those who drafted him. He is worth drafting this week against Inter. Wendt may have his hands full against Romelu Lukaku, but his confidence after back-to-back shutouts in the UCL will be high in this German defense.
Others to consider: Hans Hateboer ($4,300)
Goalkeepers
Pierluigi Gollini ($5,900)
Editor’s note: Pierluigi Gollini is listed as out for today’s contest. Marco Sportiello ($5,800) is expected to start in his place.
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has a decision to make as to whether to stick by Pierluigi Gollini, who kept a clean sheet at Anfield last week but conceded twice at home to Verona at the weekend. If Gollini does get the nod to play against Midtjylland, then he should not be troubled too much by a side that has yet to win a point in this season’s competition. Gollini has only made three appearances so far this season and if he is chosen to wear the gloves, then it’s a chance to prove his worth to his manager.
Others to consider: Jose Sa ($4,500)
