Each of the simulated games on tap have both paid and free DraftKings Showdown contests in addition to being part of the three-game classic contests that kick off at 12:00 p.m. ET and 6:00 p.m. ET. The 6:00 p.m. ET featured slate is the focus of this post and kicks off with a matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Miami Dolphins. At 8:00 p.m. ET, the Philadelphia Eagles host the New Orleans Saints in what should be a great NFC contest, and we close out the day with another great matchup as the Kansas City Chiefs head to the virtual Northwest to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
The roster for each team now includes all player movement that occurred prior to Week 1 of this season and you can find the depth charts, abilities and X-factors for Madden 21 along with the upcoming schedule on the Madden Stream info page. The rosters have also been adjusted to get the best players on the field and will not be impacted by any COVID-19 opt-outs or injuries.

Quarterback
Stud
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks, $7,800 — Even in a tough matchup with a hard-hitting defense, which we’ll discuss later, Mahomes is clearly at the head of the class of this group of QB options. The only QB in all of Madden with a 99 overall rating, Mahomes has piled up 28 passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns in his 13 sims, averaging 23.6 DKFP per contest on 279.8 passing yards. He had four straight sims with over 25 DKFP before being slowed down a little bit by the Steelers in his most recent sim. He still finished with 15.92 DKFP and a pair of touchdowns in a game that the Chiefs ended up winning 24-20. I expect this game to be higher scoring and Mahomes to pile up a ton of yardage. While he doesn’t offer the rushing potential of Russell Wilson ($7,600), his ceiling is just as high since he has elite pass-catching options and throws for so many yards and touchdowns.
Other Option — Russell Wilson ($7,600)
Value
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers vs. Miami Dolphins, $6,100 — Rodgers is still affordable on this slate despite a tasty matchup against the Dolphins. He has thrown 20 touchdowns in his 11 sims and averaged 237 yards per game. He is coming off a couple of down games against the Saints and Cardinals but showed his upside with 370 yards, two touchdowns and 28.6 DKFP against the 49ers just before those two letdowns. He has over 20 DKFP in six of his 11 sims, and he makes a solid pivot if you can’t afford to squeeze Mahomes under your salary cap.
Other Options — Drew Brees ($5,800), Tua Tagovailoa ($5,400)
Running Back
Stud
Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers vs. Miami Dolphins, $7,000 — Jones is in a great spot to succeed against the Dolphins, and he has been one of the most reliable RB1 options in Madden 21 after taking over third-down back responsibilities. He lost that key playing time in Madden 2020, but now he rarely comes off the field in Madden 21. He has found the end zone 10 times in 11 games, including one touchdown in each of his past five games with over 21 DKFP in each of his past three. Jones was held without a catch in his most recent sim but still had over 20 DKFP since he hit the bonus for over 100 rushing yards. He is averaging three catches per sim and has had as many as seven catches in a game, so PPR production is also a possibility for him against the Dolphins.
Other Options — Alvin Kamara ($7,500), Miles Sanders ($6,500)
Value
Matt Breida, Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers, $5,200 — Without any timeshares on the board, it isn’t a great slate to go ultra-cheap at RB. Breida is a solid, affordable option though, since he has flashed a very high ceiling since taking over as RB1 in the latest roster update. Breida started on fire with at least 21 DKFP in his first three games as the primary RB. He has cooled off a bit lately, though, with just 13.5 DKFP and 4.3 DKFP in his two most recent contests. Even though the Packers have a stout run defense, Breida has been involved enough as a receiver out of the backfield that I think he can still post a solid stat line in this matchup.
Other Option — Chris Carson ($5,500)
Wide Receiver
Stud
Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks, $7,400 — Like in real life, the Seattle secondary has struggled in Madden 21, so Hill should be primed for another big game. The Chiefs’ WR1 has found the end zone 12 times in his 13 sims, including seven touchdowns in his past five games. He has actually only hit the 100-yard bonus twice but has averaged six catches per contest, and his volume of work and touchdown production has masked the fact that his yardage totals still have room to improve. His 99 speed rating and X-factor traits make him almost unstoppable after the catch, and I don’t think the Seahawks have the personnel to keep up with the Cheetah in this contest.
Other Option — Michael Thomas ($6,500), DK Metcalf ($6,300)
Value
Devin Funchess, Green Bay Packers vs. Miami Dolphins, $5,500 — While Davante Adams ($5,800) is healthy like everyone else in simland, Funchess has actually been a favorite target of Aaron Rodgers since the WR2 rejoined the team when the COVID-19 opt-outs were brought back. Funchess has produced an average of 18.7 DKFP in his five games since returning and has caught at least six passes in all but one of those contests. He has over 21 DKFP in three of his past four games and should have no problem finding space to operate against the Dolphins’ secondary, which has struggled throughout the Madden 21 sims.
Marquise Goodwin, Philadelphia Eagles vs. New Orleans Saints, $4,100 — Goodwin isn’t quite as fast as Tyreek Hill, but his 97 speed rating is only behind Hill and Henry Ruggs III in all of Madden. Like his fellow opt-out Funchess, Goodwin has thrived since returning to action and has produced 12.3 DKFP per contest. He serves as the Eagles’ WR3 and slot receiver— a role that gives him a very high ceiling. He had 117 yards and 23.9 DKFP in a sim against the Vikings and found the end zone for 18.1 DKFP against the Texans in his most recent contest. He isn’t as consistent as some of the more expensive options, but you have to love his upside and big-play potential at just over $4K.
Other Options — Emmanuel Sanders ($4,900), Albert Wilson ($3,500), Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($3,200)
Tight End
Stud
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks, $6,400 — The success of Mahomes is tied directly to the skillsets of Hill and Kelce, who have both been getting outstanding volume and making big plays so far in Madden 21. Kelce is averaging 6.8 catches per contest and has produced 76.2 yards per contest while finding the end zone nine times. He has scored a touchdown in five straight sims coming into this matchup against the Seahawks, who have given up plenty of receiving yards to both TE and WR so far in Madden 21.
Other Options— Zach Ertz ($5,200), Jared Cook ($4,700)
Value
Mike Gesicki, Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers, $4,000 — Gesicki has been one of the key contributors for the Dolphins and has seen an increase in volume since Tua took over as starting QB. Gesicki has multiple catches in every game with Tua, while averaging 4.25 catches per game over that stretch. He still only has one touchdown in his 11 Madden 21 sims, which is holding his production back a little bit, but he has still managed to average almost 9.0 DKFP per contest. He’s a solid play against Green Bay if you have to go cheap at TE or your flex spot.
Other Option— Greg Olsen ($4,500)
DST
Stud
Seahawks DST vs. Kansas City Chiefs, $3,100 — Seattle’s defense had posted double-digit DKFP in four straight games before coming up empty against the 49ers in their most recent sim. They should be able to bounce back against the Chiefs, even though they will probably give up a good amount of points. The Seahawks’ production has been tied to turnovers and big plays, not necessarily limiting their opponent. They have forced an amazing 19 turnovers in 10 sims resulting in three defensive touchdowns. They also have 23 sacks and a safety to raise their average to 9.5 DKFP per game. Even in a tough matchup against Mahomes, they still have big-play potential, so they are worth considering at just over $3K.
Value
Packers DST vs. Miami Dolphins, $2,800 — The Packers’ DST is also full of playmakers with superstars in the secondary and on the defensive line. They have only forced five turnovers with 14 sacks in their 11 games but usually do a very good job limiting their opponents’ scoring. Against a rookie QB in Tua, they should be able to make some plays in this matchup, and they come at fairly low risk since they don’t typically give up a ton of points.
