Wolves and newly-promoted Leeds United will resume their Premier League campaign with a highly-anticipated fixture considering their contrasting styles of play. Here is a look at the players to consider for the Captain’s pick as well as the flex positions for DraftKings’ soccer Showdown game on Monday.

Captain

Raul Jimenez ($16,200)

Jimenez is an out-and-out striker. He is coming into this season on the back of a sensational campaign in the 2019-20 season. He has scored the opening goal in five of the last six games when he has managed to beat the keeper in the Premier League. He has scored two goals so far this season. He also has the ability to rise higher than most defenders in the box, increasing the probability of a shot on target. He has taken 13 shots so far in the Premier League.

Other to consider: Adama Traore ($15,600)

High-priced flex options

Adama Traore ($10,400)

Traore’s scoring skill isn’t a finished product yet. That was evident when he missed multiple opportunities with just the keeper to beat last season. However, he is still a valuable fantasy asset. He is one of the quickest and strongest players down the right flank, and will whip deliveries into the box for Jimenez. He is also a fantastic defensive player: he leads Wolves this season with eight tackles.

Pedro Neto ($10,000)

Is Neto worth this price? If this was against most other teams in the Premier League, I’d probably say no. However, Leeds like a quick-paced style of moving the football, which also catches them off defensively. Neto scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win against Fulham prior to the international break. He even has one assist and seven shots on goal, which has translated into 12.6 DKFP per game.

Daniel Podence ($9,200)

Podence has earned the trust and faith of Wolves’ management. He is slowly moving into a consistent starting role for Wolves, forming one half of a potent front two, along with Jimenez. Although the season is too young to make a judgement on his future at this role, the early signs are good. He is leading Wolves in assists, having aided two goals so far.

Other to consider: Kalvin Phillips ($9,000)

Value flex options

Patrick Bamford ($8,800)

At this price, Bamford is certainly worth an inclusion in the value category. From a fantasy perspective, if you’re looking for an offensive target, then shots on goal is a key metric because it indicates the types of positions a player puts himself in. Bamford is comfortably leading Leeds in this category, with 11 shots. Three of those shots were on target and beat the keeper. He even has one assist this season. He is averaging 13.4 DKFP per game, too.

Rodrigo Moreno ($7,000)

Moreno came off the bench in the previous Premier League game, and made an immediate impact with a goal against Manchester City. That was his second Premier League goal, nine years and 272 days after his first EPL goal - the second-longest gap ever. Leeds didn’t acquire him for about a quarter of a million pounds to keep him on the bench for too long. He scored 59 goals in 220 games for Valencia. That level of offensive output fits nicely into Leeds’ rapid-moving style.

Other to consider: Helder Costa ($8,000)
